For Basileus, sleeping had been impossible.
The entire situation had been eating at him in every possible way. When he first left and he was getting to hear from her every other day, it didn't feel like enough but now that he lost contact with her altogether, he found the situation to be miserable.
He assumed that their lack of connection was due to his ship losing communication, having no knowledge of the situation on Planet V.
As the cruel world would have it, he couldn't talk to the one person who grounded him when he needed it the most.
All he could do was meditate to try and keep himself together, knowing that the men in his ship needed a leader rather than someone who couldn't emotionally handle the situation.
