Varya rested her forehead against his neck and their bare wet flesh pressed against each other. Their chests were heaving and the only noise was their breath as they relished in the feeling of the other person so close to them.
"We need more water in this tub," he said. "You're getting cold."
He kept one of his arms around her but he reached with the other and turned on the hot water again.
Varya sighed blissfully even though her legs were tired and she didn't feel like moving.
"Did you have a good birthday?" Basileus quietly asked, his lips pressing against the soft hair that covered her head.
Varya wrapped her arms around his neck and she smiled lazily.
"I'll never forget this birthday for as long as I live," she said.
"In the future, I'll make sure to make this day grander and grander each time," Basileus said. "You'll be surrounded by so many people envious of you that each party will trump any of the ones you saw on Earth."
