From Varya's window in Ebari's quarters, she had a wonderful view of Planet Ptoma. Beyond the glass of the dome that encapsulated the palace, a snowstorm raged on and she felt happy that they didn't actually have to live in it.
As far as she could remember, she wasn't a fan of the snow or the cold. Her parents always asked if she wanted to go out and play in it or participate in winter sports, but it never appealed to her.
She turned and looked at her son who was laying on the bed with his arms in the air and his feet moving. Basileus had told her before that Basilians didn't like the cold either because it made their auras weaken. Maybe she would have to look into going to a warmer planet at some point. It was her dream for her son to be able to play outside of wherever they lived.
Sometimes it felt like she was living in a bubble, but she had mostly gotten used to it. Still, she couldn't help thinking this wasn't a place for a child to live.
