After the interaction with Ebari, Varya was allowed to return to her room. It turned out Ebari had given so much money that she only had to see him that day.
Upon entering her room, there was a pitcher of water, a cup, and food sitting at her table. She was still feeling the alcohol and decided it would be best to hydrate. However, she knew her tired body would reject it if she drank too quickly and only had small glasses of water over time. Despite her stomach churning, she forced herself to get down some of the food.
Ebari's worry for her gave her motivation to try and hold on a little bit longer. She didn't want to be hopeful, knowing that anything could happen, but Ebari made her feel like life wasn't going to be this way forever.
As Varya sat on her bed and stared at the impressive city skyline just out of her reach, she heard a soft knock on her door. Instantly, she stood up. She heard her door unlock and knew who it was.
