Upon arriving in her room, Varya sat down on the end of the bed and covered her mouth with one of her hands. Her emotions were everywhere, and she wondered if she was being hormonal.
"What happened while I was away?" Ebari asked with a worried tone in his voice. It warmed Varya's heart. "I was only away for a few weeks."
Seeing how distraught Ebari was, she quickly stood up and went forward to grab his hand. There was a chair in the corner of the room facing the bed, and she led him there so he could sit down. His height was overwhelming to her. It didn't help with the worry that he was going to be upset with her when she revealed the truth.
She stepped away from him and wrung her hands together as she figured out how to start. In her nervousness, she started pacing.
"Please don't be mad," she started.
"I've never been one to act purely on emotion, Varya," he responded.
"I know. I'm sorry," she said and stopped pacing. "I'm just at a loss for what to do right now."
