Ebari stood in front of her with a small smile. He took off the cape, revealing his imperial armor. In one smooth movement, he tossed it onto one of the cushions. The elf-like alien crossed his arms and stared down at her, his golden eyes piercing her.
"What are you doing here?" Varya asked and placed her hands on one of his arms for support. Her world was spinning at the rush of feelings she wasn't expecting.
Despite seeing a familiar face, the sick feeling didn't disappear entirely. What if Ebari was here to take advantage of her being away from the prince? She had always believed Ebari to be someone safe, but she could be completely wrong.
Ebari observed her with a blank expression. To him, she didn't look healthy. There were dark circles under her eyes and she seemed thinner. She was far different than the woman he had danced with in the castle.
