Chapter 14 - Chapter 14: Lot Of Grandkids ..

***Memory***

"I don't look good in that photo." Said a woman of about 21 years. She had worn a 3-forth yellow frock. Her hair was in a pony with a few strands of hair over her face. She tried to snatch the photo from the man on whose lap she was laying.

"Well, I clicked this photo so it's me who decides whether to keep it or not." Said the domineering Hector. He always loved to make fun of Naira

"But I look ugly. And you clicked the photo without even warning. That's unfair." Naira tried to argue.

"Well, everything is fair in love and war, darling." Hector said and was about to put the photo in his upper pocket when Naira said, "Can I have the photo?"

"But didn't you say you look ugly?" Hector was surprised

"...who would guarantee of you not showing this to anyone. So it better be with me." With that Naira took the photo and began examining it. She then put the photo near her chest and closed her eyes.

They were sitting in a beautiful park. It was Naira's favourite place and this was also a date, so it made her feel more special. The pink blossoms of the park were its speciality. As it was a working day very few people were roaming around. They were sitting under a huge pink blossom tree with a long bench. The beach was enough for Naira to lay down and above her head were the strong legs of a hulk.

The breeze created a gentle sound. A few fragile blossoms also got detached from their branches due to the gentle breeze. Naira could feel the petals and flowers falling over her. From a distance, she heard the laughter of many little children.

Just then Naira opened her eyes and sat up straight. Hector who had also closed his eyes, got startled by the sudden gesture of Naira.

"Hector, do you like children?" Naira asked

"....yes maybe?" He was just too surprised by this question.

"I wonder how it will be when I will be old. Will I stay alone without a single bursting of children's laughter?" She was always scared of being alone and usually was prone to overthinking because of it.

Hector took Naira's both hands and with a soft smile, he said, "You won't be alone. I will grow old with you. I will always be beside you. And about children... Had I ever told you that I had this biggest dream that I will have a lot of kids in future? Though we will be old, we won't be alone. We will have a lot of grandkids and live a happy life..."

***present***

Those memories made old Naira sensitive. A few tears flowed down her eyes.

Then she again looked at the picture. She looked at the man. He was always handsome, though he carried his domineering presence everywhere.

"We do have a lot of grandkids Hector, just as promised." A faint smile left Naira's face as she tossed the photo aside and slept...
