Chapter 6 - Under the sky

The cold water of the sink faucet stopped when Nami turned off the faucet. All her work done, all the clean dishes arranged on the dish rack. She wished she could clean her father and Felix's hearts, but she didn't.

They were like bees and honey, but now they were like water and oil. Three days passed, three mind-numbing days. Nami wanted things to return to normal, but should she intervene?

The kitchen window was her barrier to seeing that figure. An adorable cold figure.

Like a lost soul, Felix sat on the back deck of the house. His gaunt chin rests on two palms as he watches three calves graze in his homemade pen.

He was so focused that he didn't even notice Nami sitting next to him. The girl propped up her chin, smiling as she noticed Felix's face was different from usual. The face that used to be as cold as an ice cube, now wilted like a flower deprived of water.

Now Nami knew that Felix was definitely not a robot. Only humans can be sad.

Nami deliberately shocked Felix with the cold can of drink on his cheek. "Hey robot, how is it, have you understood your mistake?"

Felix shook his head, then nodded. He must have known the answer, but was afraid of being wrong, as well as at a loss for how to explain it to Nami.

The withered eyes wanted Nami's drink, but Nami cruelly gulped down her favorite cola. She teased Felix, hoping to provoke his anger, or at least his annoyance, but she did not. Perhaps Felix didn't fully understand how conscience worked.

"Drink up." Letting Felix soak the mulit, Nami sighed. Her bamboo leaf eyes gazed into the beautiful sky studded with millions of stars that flowed along the milky way. She wanted to encourage Felix to wake up, she wanted to turn Felix into a warm human being.

"The heart is the human soul that causes mental anguish and feelings of guilt when opposed and feelings of pleasure and peace when actions, thoughts and words are in accordance with the adopted value system."

Nami guessed that Felix's silence was because he failed to digest her explanation. The young man watched the girl next to him like a cat waiting to be fed.

Nami realized what was happening, but she tried to be patient, moistening her throat with sweet saliva. She realized Felix was not a normal boy. He was like a white canvas because of his memory loss.

"Felix, listen, the Heart can be likened to moral awareness or moral knowledge. Conscience reacts when one's actions, deeds and words conform to, or contradict, a standard of right and wrong." Then he tasted the semriwing flavor of the coke.

"What's the point of conscience?" The voice innocently asked, a voice that yearned for a definitive answer.

Nami almost choked at Felix's innocent question and she herself didn't know how to explain it.

Unbeknownst to them, Basil had been observing the youthful closeness while leaning against the doorframe. "Human self-consciousness is the ability of man to know himself and therefore reflect on himself. In man, there is a doubling in which man not only acts as the object but also acts as the subject. Conscience is an appreciation of good and bad in relation to our concrete behavior as humans."

Like a sunflower Felix stood up after realizing Basil was behind him. "Sorry, I-"

"So, what's your answer, son?"

"I took their mother's life, I have to replace their mother, take care of them."

Tears rolled down Felix's cheeks as he said this. He imagined that doe was Basil. Without Basil, Felix would have died in the forest. Yes, Felix is Calve.

"Men don't cry easily, crybaby," Nami whispered, choosing to give her father and Felix the back dexk of the house. "I'm going to bed, good night."

There were four steps, a sobbing sound raising question marks in her mind. Nami peeked over her shoulder as she opened the door. She gasped as she found Felix cuddling with Basil. She cried.

The young man flooded Basil's t-shirt with tears, with regret, and a bright change of future.

"That's how you use your heart, Robot."

Now Nami couldn't wait to see how warm and conscientious Felix was. The new Felix, she was sure, was not only physically beautiful, but had a kind, gentle, warm heart, and was capable of shedding emotion, far from a robot.
