Chapter 54 - What to Choose!-Part 2

Ultimately, Damian came down to three choices that would come with the most practicality and the one that does not overlap with his current spells.

1. Doppelgeist Manifest - translated as the Replication Spell, stands as a creation forged within the esteemed court of the Onyx Emperor in Yi Ti. Crafted by a sorcerer of profound skill, this enchantment allows the user to conjure a lifelike clone capable of carrying out assigned tasks under the command of the original. The clone mirrors the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of the caster, providing a versatile extension of their abilities.

Upon casting the spell, a shimmering resonance envelops the sorcerer as an ethereal duplicate materializes beside them. The clone, indistinguishable from the original, possesses autonomy and intelligence, yet remains steadfast in its loyalty to the caster's will.

2. Synaptic Nexus - colloquially known as the Hive Mind, is an ancient spell crafted by a mage of immense power during the Age of the Great Dawn. When cast upon oneself, this enchantment has the extraordinary ability to fragment and distribute the consciousness into several independent entities, forming a collective consciousness—a hive mind.

Upon activation, a shimmering aura envelops the spell caster or the chosen targets. Threads of arcane energy weave an intricate network, connecting the individual minds into a cohesive whole. Each fragment retains its autonomy, capable of independent thought and action, yet all share a unified awareness and purpose.

3. Luminara Veil - translated to Arcane Insight, stands as a creation by a gifted Apprentice Mage from the Age of Dawn, native to the enchanting Naath Island. This intricate spell gifts the caster with a heightened perception, allowing them to peer into the unseen tapestry of magical energies that saturate the world.

Upon initiation, a gentle luminescence emanates from the caster's eyes, marking the awakening of the mind's eye. This ethereal transformation opens a gateway to a concealed layer of reality, unfurling the radiant hues of auras and the mesmerizing currents of mana.

Damian considered the trio of spells, ones that were a breeze to cast, incredibly practical, and blessed with minimal drawbacks.

Yearning for more free vouchers, Damian coveted all three spells. Each held enticing advantages. The initial spell resembled Naruto's shadow clones, capable of independent tasks, learning, and combat. Undoing the clone could even grant Damian its experiences and sensations. However, he couldn't amass an army like Naruto due to limited magic reserves; crafting even one clone strained his current mana. Sustaining its existence required periodic mana infusion, a delicate balance to ensure more than a fleeting three-hour lifespan.

The second spell, Hive Mind, delved into dividing minds rather than bodies. Its applications in learning and research mirrored the clone spell, yet with distinctions. Damian envisioned connecting with his soldiers within the spell's range, fostering unparalleled precision and effectiveness, surpassing any conventional army. Nevertheless, the strain on the mind from prolonged use loomed as a substantial limitation.

The third spell, in Damian's perspective, appeared simpler than its counterparts, yet he sensed its potential eclipsed any magic he had encountered thus far.

Through the application of the spell, Damian could unravel the emotional states, intentions, and magical affinities of living beings, perceiving their auras as radiant, multicoloured halos. This enchantment rendered it virtually impossible for someone to conceal their nature and motives in his presence.

Additionally, the spell granted him the ability to observe the ethereal currents of mana traversing through the air, interconnecting magical entities. This bestowed insights into the flow and essence of magical energies, paving the way for a deeper comprehension of magic itself. Damian envisioned the potential to craft his own spells in the future, leveraging this newfound understanding gained through experience. Despite its proficiency in perception and analysis, Luminara Veil found its strengths more aligned with observation and comprehension than direct offensive applications.

With all three spells presenting their own merits and drawbacks, Damian now faced the crucial task of choosing the most suitable one for his magical journey.

"Ah, sod it. Let's go with the Luminara Veil," Damian declared, opting for the third spell in the end. As much as he craved the ability to create clones or attain a computer-like mind, the prospect of perceiving magic through his eyes felt more valuable in the long run. He harboured hopes that, with ample research on magic, he could potentially develop the other two spells in the future.

After being stuffed with the knowledge of the spell, rather than trying to cast it immediately to see its effect, Damian went to look at the last reward remaining.

"Special Race Group-Summon Token"

This token wielded the power to summon a cohort of a hundred individuals, each belonging to a common race but distinct from humans. Damian envisioned the potential summoning of Elves, Beastmen, Mermaids, Giants, Vampires, Fairies, and Dwarves. Even Goblins, Orcs, and devilish races such as Succubus and Imps were not out of the question. These summoned beings would stand as loyal soldiers, akin to his other summoned companions.

However, unlike his previous summons, these individuals would possess a diverse array of random skills, likely tied to their respective ethnicities. This aspect turned the summoning into a metaphorical Pandora's box of possibilities.

With a decisive act, Damian employed the token and patiently awaited the outcome as the screen blinked for what seemed like an eternity.

Finally, after the prolonged anticipation, Damian witnessed a magical circle manifesting on the ground before him. Bursting into radiant light, it nearly blinded him with its brilliance.

"Is it the Giant's or Elves?" Damian thought in his mind.

What came before him was nothing like he had expected in his mind.
