Cierra and the Brigantes rode across the lush landscape, the sun shining high in the sky, and the grasslands rolling out before them. They rode hard, eager to reach their destination before nightfall. The horses' hooves pounded against the ground, their breaths heavy as they raced onwards.
Cierra let her mind wander as they rode. How was Sekhmet doing? It had been only a few weeks since she last saw the goddess and her realm, but it had only taken one night for the skogkatt's to fall to the nightmares. She made a mental note to ask Goldie the next time they met.
Then there were Freya's tears. Was Freya still stuck in that cave, being tortured? Rotting? The bracelet glowed warm on her wrist as though to reassure her. Cierra felt an immense pressure on her shoulders. What if by keeping the tears safe and having Cid by her side, she had all that was left of the Nordic goddess?
She swallowed hard.
