"What the hell is happening in my precinct?" shouted Graham the moment he came in.
Everyone stood up alert after hearing his voice. Journee and Henry looked at each other with fear. It was time for Graham to get angry. A theft occurred in his precinct that too of a dead body which was unusual.
"Who was in charge of that area tonight?" shouted Graham.
An average-height gentleman came forward.
"Stellar, you? Graham was shocked. Stellar was a decorated officer. He was experienced, stubborn and loyal to a fault.
"I am sorry, sir. There was no activity in the lab, no noise, there was nothing out of the ordinary. Everything was fine," said Officer Stellar.
"You heard nothing, saw nothing?" asked Graham. Suddenly his anger went down a notch. Everyone trusted Officer Stellar. He never gave any reason to doubt him.
"No, sir," he replied.
