Suddenly there was a tap on Journee's vehicle window. She lifted her head and with her red swollen eyes looked at Kay who was standing outside staring at her.
The moment he saw her, his eyes widened with shock. His heart jumped out of his chest with worry. His mind started making scenarios about why she was crying. He knew it was not because of IAB. He knew her to be capable enough that she could handle an inquiry. Then what happened within hours and why she called him to William's house?
When she didn't let her window down, he tapped again and again and she opened the door, finally.
"What? What?" shouted Kay, concerned.
Journee just jumped off her seat and jumped into his arms. She buried her face in his chest and kept crying. He held her tightly and let her cry in his arms. He didn't move for minutes. He didn't speak for minutes. He just stood there, calming his daughter down, caressing her back to soothe her.
