Kay hated that a stupid boy made her angry. He looked at Stephen and realized that Journee could have chewed him up but left him alone as she didn't want to hurt him. And because she didn't get to hurt him, she misplaced her anger on the road. He realized that Stephen was the reason she drove like a maniac and risked so many lives.
"Come close, boy," barked Kay. Hesitantly, Stephen moved closer to the gate. Without warning, Kay grabbed his collar and brought him even closer. His chest bumped into the bars. "What did you say to her?" gritted Kay.
"I am sorry. I am very sorry," stammered Stephen. "I should not have said anything. It is not my place. However she chooses to do her work, that's her decision. I am sorry for being a condescending ass. I am sorry for being judgmental. I will accept any punishment she gives," Stephen lowered his eyes with guilt.
"What did he say?" Kay asked Journee.
