Chapter. 19
Peaceful Days
After the moment that nearly took Adam's life, the days in Tanah Merah passed peacefully as usual. Kiera returned to training to control her emotions and strength.
One thing that bothered Kiera was Keannan's presence. Unwillingly, she often stares at her brother secretly. Kiera thinking, if her father looked like Keannan, then now she could imagine seeing her father through him.
Keannan's own attitude, slowly made Kiera start to accept him. Like a family, Keannan was never careful of Kiera, he always acted as he was. Small quarrels over trivial things often happen between they both.
Without realizing it affection began to grow between Kiera and Keannan. However, both of them still maintain their prestige. At times like that Adam's presence was very helpful.
Sometimes Adam feels trapped between Kiera and Keannan. He seemed to be the caretaker of two big annoying kids. Those two people can be very annoying. However, for Kiera's sake, Adam always tries to be the middleman.
Adam could feel Kiera's restlessness. The girl was caught between love and hatred towards Keannan. However, Kiera's longing for family affection is clearly healed by the arrival of Keannan.
Kiera was unable to contain the irritation she had towards Keannan. In her mind, because of Keannan her father did not think that he had another child. All those feelings made Kiera lose her focus.
Contrary to what happened to Keannan who was finally allowed to join Aaegon's study, with Adam he practiced deepening physical abilities and protection techniques smoothly. Kiera's presence didn't bother him at all. He was even more excited when practicing near Kiera.
Keannan, who was raised as an only child, always felt longing to have a sibling. In the past, when he was little kid, Keannan often asked why he didn't have siblings like most of his friends? However, the question only received a smile from his father or mother.
As time passed, Keannan naturally began to realize one thing. He never lacked the love of his parents. But, he began to see that the relationship between his father and mother looked more like best friend, not husband and wife.
Now, after Keannan meets Kiera, he begins to understand, apparently his father's true love is Kiera's mother. Keannan determined no matter what, he must bring Kiera to their father. They have a right to know each other. Both of them have been through so much grief.
That afternoon, Kiera practiced the sun's power that she had. Under the blazing sun, her body stood tall in the middle of the lake. She is like the twin shadows of the glowing sun. Meanwhile, beneath Kiera's feet there was a thin purplish mist spreading evenly covering the entire surface of the lake's water and protecting the habitats that lived in the lake, it was a protective force paired with the sun's power within Kiera.
Aaegon watched Kiera from behind a tree with satisfaction. These few days, Kiera's abilities had advanced by leaps and bounds. Kiera managed to train outside the Jade Cave, which was located behind the waterfall. Aaegon guessed that Kiera's abilities accelerated greatly due to the influence of Joye Sword.
So far, Kiera had only been able to train in a cave where the entire walls and floor surface were made of jade, behind the waterfall. The power of the jade is able to reduce the power of the sun so that it can prevent damage around the training ground.
Ever since Joye's Sword was in Kiera's hands, Aaegon witnessed something he had never seen before. Kiera managed to unite the power of the sun and the power of the moon that she had. Kiera could release both of these powers without causing any damage to the surroundings of the lake or within the lake. This means that Kiera has mastered both ancient sciences and can use them at the same time.
Aaegon knew exactly the anxiety that plagued Kiera's mind. The girl was never able to cover her mood. Apparently, Kiera wasn't comfortable with Keannan's presence yet. However, after seeing the progress that Kiera made now, Aaegon had doubts. Maybe he should let time to talk.
"Master! What are you doing?" Aaegon jumped in surprise, when suddenly Adam appeared beside him.
"Your own, what are you doing here?" answered Aaegon while looking at Adam who came alone.
Usually, where there is Adam there must be Keannan. Just when Aaegon's mind was thinking about Keannan, the young man appeared carrying a rasberri that filled his hands. Adam smirked, shrugging his shoulders. No need for words, Aaegon's question was answered.
Ever since Keannan found out that Kiera liked Rasberries, almost every day he went to the small forest near the waterfall to pick the wild fruit. Then, he would force Adam to accompany him to deliver the fruit to Kiera's hut.
"Invite Kiera come to my hut after practice, it seems she still can't be bothered now," said Aaegon while looking at the lake.
Adam also looked at Kiera who was still motionless in the middle of the lake. From a distance, Kiera looks like the Goddess of Fire riding the fog. "All right, Master," Adam replied in a serious tone. He felt that Aaegon wanted to convey something important.
Not long after, Aaegon was sitting in his hut. The three students sat in a circle across from him. They seemed impatiently waiting for what Aaegon wanted to say. It was the first time they had been specially summoned since Keannan's arrival a few weeks ago.
"Keannan. It's time for you to go home. Your father must be worried and confused looking for your whereabouts." Aaegon's first sentence immediately stunned the three students.
Kiera and Adam looked at each other. Although Kiera always tried to keep her distance from Keannan, the girl actually started to accept Keannan as a sibling. She could feel Keannan's sincerity with the little cares he showed.
As for Adam, the time he spent with Keannan made him feel close to the young man. Keannan is a fun but a little silly young man. Besides that he is Kiera's brother and that is enough for Adam to love him, although this last reason makes him have to question his own heart, what happened to him was?
Silently, Keannan looked at Kiera. Now he realized the affection he had for Kiera since the first time he met, apparently because the blood that flows through his body is also flowing in the girl's body. He knew his father must be worried, maybe even thought he was dead. But, Keannan found it hard to leave Red Land at this time.
"Teacher, does he really have to go now?" Kiera's question made Keannan and Adam look directly at her. Keannan smiled happily, apparently Kiera had started to accept him secretly too, even though her act still keeping distance.
