Chapter 37 - Cruel doubt

After getting out of the hot bath and putting on his pajamas, Gabriel turned on the computer craving distraction. He had never felt as tired in his life as he did in that moment.

All thanks to a kiss.

Milles and Nicolas did not speak during training, but Gabriel noticed an odious tension between the two. Just like the day before, the two were in opposing teams continuing their personal dispute. One wanting to make more points than the other. One wanting to be stronger than the other.

Even the coach had noticed that something had happened. For it was customary for Milles to speak nonsense to the point of annoying his captain. But he had taken the training match so seriously that he remained silent.

No one had dared to say anything.

Gabriel had even considered talking to Theodore and asking if Nicolas had said anything about it. However, the assistant was absent that afternoon for unknown reasons. They had not spoken between classes and did not see each other in training, it was enough for Gabriel to reach a conclusion.

Theodore would be avoiding him.

As soon as the computer turned on, the alpha will open its MSN by checking the list of users online. A smile appeared on his face when Theodore's name appeared with the green ball, making him open the chat quickly.

"Gabriel says:

Hello Theodore!

We haven't even talked properly today, how are you?

Theodore says:

Hey! I'm fine and you?

By the way... How was your training today? '

― You're curious, aren't you? ― Laugh Gabriel.

"Gabriel says:

A real battlefield

But they didn't mention anything, and avoided themselves in the locker room

Theodore says:

Good, I was afraid they were gonna build a shack in the middle of training

Gabriel says:

Probably everything will be back to normal soon

The two of you hating each other, and let us fight to hold them"

Gabriel had minimized the window and entered the Orkut while waiting for Theodore's answer. It was common for omega to delay in responding, and when he was curious to know your answer this delay was unbearable.

What was Theodore doing to take so long to answer? He was talking to other people? He didn't see him with friends other than Nicolas. Ah, that thought was invalid, since the other day a girl had managed to take Theodore to a coffee shop.

A coffee shop.

With a girl.

Did he have that girl in his profile?

Gabriel had quickly entered Theodore's profile, accessing his list of friends by checking each profile picture. To his displeasure, he had found the said whose on the list.

Lilian was her name.

Now, Theodore had taken days to accept Gabriel's friend request, while that girl was already on his list... How unfair. Did he have her MSN, and they were talking?

Making a beak on the lips, opened the chat window and caught the attention of Theodore. Quickly the message that the blonde boy was typing appeared on the screen.

"Theodore says:

Why do you always do that?

I take every fright, one day I will die of heart and it will be your fault.

Gabriel says:

I keep wondering what makes you so distracted that it takes time to answer...

Theodore says:

I'm reading

Gabriel says:

Which book?

Theodore says:

It's not a book...

They are stories in an Orkut community.

Gabriel says:

Is it good?

What is it about?

Theodore says:

It's romance, no big deal

Gabriel says:

Send the link there, then

Theodore says:

You won't like it

Gabriel says:

Well, why not?

Theodore says:

It is gay romance"

Were there gay romances? Well... just because he never read one wouldn't mean it wasn't there.

He had noticed that Theodore loved to read. Some mornings he had a habit of sitting under the tree with a book in his hands, getting distracted while reading. And it was also common for Theodore to stay in the library. He remembered the time they did a job there, found the blonde sitting on the floor reading "Eclipse".

Wasn't that the vampire romance that was making a hit with the girls? Theodore was probably a fan of romance.

Gabriel did not care much about romance, he was a fan of fantasy. Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings were his favourites. Probably those two friends had never talked about this type of subject, where they would share their favourite tastes.

It would be a good way to get to know each other even more. And then he could borrow books, watch movies together.

But... would he be willing to meet a gay romance if Theodore asked?

" ― I asked Theodore what it was like to be kissed by another guy, and in the end it happened. You also asked me that, so I can only say to experiment and draw your own conclusions".

Milles' words returned forcefully in Gabriel's mind. The friend who had always mocked had been silent after being kissed by Nicolas. Maybe the experience was a life lesson.

But Gabriel did not mock Theodore. Nor did he fear him. He just... found it incomprehensible. He couldn't figure out how that could work.

An idea had popped into his mind, and quickly the kid had started typing on the dark keyboard.

"Gabriel says:

Theodore, can you send me the link to this story?

Theodore says:

The one I'm reading?

Do you really want to read?

Why?

Gabriel says:

I'm curious to know the kind of story you like

Theodore says:

Is just romance

Like straight movies, there's not much difference

Gabriel says:

So it's okay for me to read, right? ;)"

Even though Theodore seemed reluctant in the messages, he had sent the link to Gabriel. The page of a Community topic had been opened, he having read the synopsis of the story first.

It seemed like a common story and as much as bad writing, but would continue to read. Not only to find out what was stealing Theodore's attention, but to clear the various doubts he had in his mind. To reach this end, Gabriel had stayed late at night reading the story, feeling several whys being answered in a simple, fun and romantic way.
