Chapter 5 - Alice Starts Solving The Mystery

Alice got up and walked up the stairs, she was scared but she needed to know what was happening, she slowed down when she got to the top, she saw the boy move very quickly into Mary's room, she breathed in heavily and walked quietly into the room. There was no one there, she saw a small book on Mary's bed, the wind blew it's pages and it fell off the bed onto the ground, Alice walked cautiously to the book, she bended and took it, it was Mary's diary, she opened it and on it was written "21st January, Esther my sister's best friend gave me an ouija board, she swore it was real, we laughed about it, she told me to never lie when the ouija board asked me any questions, I really hope it would talk me, no one actually talked to me much, but I guess they like me".

Her eyes widened with fear, she got up with the diary and as she turned, the was standing before her, he screamed at her face "What would you do for fun now?" she screamed and staggered back. She ran to the door but it shut with a loud bang by itself "No, no no no" Alice said trying to open the door but it was tightly shut.

"What would you do for fun now" a voice asked again, she could see a shadow walking in the wall. Alice thought, "it wants me to answer and I should only tell the truth or I might die"

The shadow continued walking the wall rounding getting to the door where Alice was still trying to open it, she sat down on the floor and covered her ears with her hands breathing heavily in fear. 'What would you do now for fun" the voice sounded again like a loud ringing in her ear.

She shouted "Nothing, I would like to do nothing for fun, just leave me alone"

She heard the door open and then she opened her eyes, the shadow was gone and so was the voice again, She quickly walked out of the room with Mary's diary.

In school the next day, she approached Esther furiously, "You gave my sister the ouija board, was that why you were so scared when you saw it, I can't believe you gave my sister something that might have killed her"

Esther sighed while rolling her eyes "What now? the drama queen again, can't you just let it go"

"No this is no drama, because you have a serious explaining to do" Alice said.

"And if I have no explanation?" Esther said sticking out her neck to Alice.

"Oh, then I'll involve my parents and the police" Alice pointing at her. "You'll be going to jail, girl".

Esther seemed taken aback for a second but then she laughed and said "And what happens if you call the police, who would believe that an ouija board killed your sister, the police already dismissed that option and your parents don't believe that too, you're the only one who keeps running around which such crazy ideas"

Alice's anger turned to sadness, Esther was quite right, who would believe her, her parents didn't even believe her. She and George's wife were already been considered crazy for saying that a man just appeared and killed her husband then disappeared. The forensic doctors said that the wound on George's neck looked like a very large piece of wood was thrust into his throat and it was not at all unnatural but we knew that there was no piece of wood, it was the strange boy's hand that did that.

Alice walked back home feeling dejected and completely empty but she still maintained her resolve to get to the root of her sister's death.

Dinner that night with her family was quiet until she heard the voice again, it came quietly into her head "what do you absolutely think is real?".

She stopped and listened carefully, it came again but very loud this time "What do you absolutely think is real?" She covered her ears.

"I absolutely believe that God is real" she said. Her parents turned to her and her father smiled, "Yes honey, God is absolutely real, no doubt about that, that was really sudden though, what are you thinking about?"

"I've got to go get some sleep" Alice said getting up, her parents watched her as she walked out.

She got to het room and immediately she stepped, the door quietly clicked shut and a hand held her throat "You think this is a joke?" Alice gasped for breath. "No, no no" she replied. The hand let her go and she dropped down on the floor still gasping for breath. She looked around the room frightened but there was no one there. She quickly went to sit before her computer. She opened the previous search result that showed her about the markings on the Ouija board. She was hoping to find any information on how to end this. Now it was no longer about her late sister anymore but also about her, this demon that killed her sister was also after her now and as far as she knew she might just be an answer away from death.

She scrolled down and started reading, "Mythology had it that demons from hell were released once every century to roam the earth, they came in different forms, they had rules that they all abided by once they came to earth and violating any one of the rules led to that demon being banned from ever coming to the earth".
