Lucia was quick to call for the police and even quicker to get a good grasp of the situation at hand. Judging by the residents and medical staff all grouped together cowering in fear. And the fearsome looking men holding guns and rifles, blocking all exits and hospital wards. It was painfully obvious that a gang had placed the hospital under siege.
"Hey you! Get down." One of the men ordered in reference to Lucia, whose mind was stuck wondering if they were going to get hostile towards the patients.
She hastily complied and sat on the floor, next to the other residents who were either saying their last prayers or pissing their pants.
"Don't worry, I've called the police, they'll be here shortly." Lucia said to the dark skinned resident who only joined them two days ago, due to a mix-up in her application.
The woman who had been praying, heaved a heavy sigh of relief and relaxed her tensed shoulders a bit. Luckily, the men were busy discussing amongst themselves and didn't bother looking in their direction.
"Did they hurt any patient?" Lucia asked, using her eyes to scout the wards she could see.
"I don't know... They haven't done anything, expect demand to see the CEO in his office." She responded, her fingers shaking violently.
"Let's just wait a bit, everything will be fine." Lucia told her, cupping both of the woman's hands in her frail hands, sending her a reassuring glance and a warm smile.
Lucia wasn't certain of what business the gang members had with the CEO, but she was certain that the blonde man that had shoved her aside was definitely the leader.
*A few minutes later*
The ding sound of the nearest elevator forced all the men in Black to stand erect as though they were saluting someone.
"That must be the boss." Lucia mouthed under her breath, bracing herself for whatever command he would issue out.
Some men in Black stepped out of the elevator first, only to reveal the same blonde haired man from before, but only this time, there was someone clinging desperately to him.
A woman.
A red haired woman, clinging tightly to his right side, wearing a body fitted little red gown that hugged her sides nicely.
As though on cue, all the men all lowered their heads in recognition, as the blonde man walked past them with his escort, hand in hand.
"Boss, we're awaiting your orders." A subordinate said, his head still lowered while he spoke.
Lucia, along with the others couldn't help but wonder how and when this woman slipped into the hospital, right underneath their noses.
"What do you say Bambi?" The blonde man redirected the question to the woman in his company, a sinister smile plastered across his handsome jaw.
"Daddy" she moaned like a spoilt child who was denied what he wanted, roughly nestling into his side.
"I don't careeeee, we were supposed to be on an island together, this wasn't what you promised Papi." She went on to say, contorting her features into a pouty face.
"This is just some small business, let's leave now..." Unfortunately for the assumed boss, the sound of wailing police sirens cut off his sentence.
"Who the hell called the police?!" The blonde man raged against the hostages, raising his intimidating voice.
Almost immediately, police cars blocked all exits, and officers eagerly rushed out, taking their formation.
"Daddy!" The woman shrieked, as she found herself being shoved away by the blonde haired man, who swiftly pulled out a gun from his breast pocket.
He scanned the faces of all the hostages, till his eyes landed on Lucia, and a thin lipped smile planted itself on his face.
"You! Get up!" He grabbed her roughly by the arm and pulled her to his side, pointing his cold pistol to the side of her head.
"What...are you..."
"Shut up, unless you want me to blow your brains out." He ordered, adding more force on his grip.
While he did this, his female escort had quietly slipped out of the scene and headed towards the back entrance, before many officers would crowd there.
Lucia who was horribly afraid of guns, couldn't move a muscle, as she found herself being led through the lobby, as a hostage.
"Drop your weapons and surrender yourself!" An officer with a mega phone issued his demand, "release the hostages!" He went on to say, resting his hand on his gun holster.
"Thank you for the offer, but no." The blonde man crudely told them, "step aside and we won't kill the hundreds of people in the building." He stated in a loud voice, refusing to negotiate.
The officers stared at one another in perplexity, uncertain which gang this young man belonged to.
"We don't negotiate with criminals." A policeman with a bushy mustache replied, trying to kill time while the rescue team infiltrated the building.
Lucia was slowly loosing consciousness, and grew weak in the knees. Her fear of guns was acting up and she knew in only moments, she would collapse.
"Hey, what's wrong with you?" He asked to only her hearing, in a surprisingly calm tone of voice.
"I'm scared of guns." She responded, "heavily afraid." She added, her voice almost croaked at that moment.
"Tch." He cussed, she was at the moment gasping for air like she was in dire need of it.
"Just hold on, and count to a hundred, it'll be over soon." Her abductor with a gruesome scar calmly told her, offering her his hand to hold.
Lucia took advantage of it and gave his palm a tight squeeze, her dainty sweaty fingers held unto him for dear life.
"Just close your eyes and think of something else." He went on to say into her ears, over the noise from both his end and the police's side.
"Like what?" Lucia asked, actually conversing with her kidnapper like they were well acquainted with each other.
The moment she asked, one of the police men fell miserably to the ground, as a bullet dug into his back, with the speed of lightening.
"Get down! Get down!" Cried the disgruntled police officer, holding the siren.
"They've got snipers!" The moment he issued the command, three more of his officers were preyed on by the merciless snipper.
"That's my cue to leave." Lucia's kidnapper said to her, right before he pushed her to the ground without any remorse.
Right before she could say anything in protest, an officer holding a shield quickly crawled over to where she laid down. As she was being rescued by him, the one sided shooting continued, and lasted for up to five minutes.
By the time the snipper had ceased fire, not only had her kidnapper suddenly vanished into thin air, but the men in Black who had the entire hospital under siege had escaped discreetly.
"Are you okay? Do you need medical attention?" A female officer asked Lucia, who was clearly still in a daze and unresponsive.
***********
A red wig, a Janitor's uniform, some lipstick and eyeshadow sat idly on the passenger's seat in an old taxi.
In the back, laid a sniping gun, another change of clothes and the blue prints of the hospital.
*Ring*
A small black cellphone rang on the driver's lap, she effortlessly picked it up and brought it to her ear, while keeping her eyes on the road.
"Were you followed?" She asked into the phone, "and how many men did we lose?"
"None, thanks to your intervention boss, you saved our ass." The familiar voice which belonged to Seb spoke into the phone.
"What the hell were you thinking, taking a hostage?" Vitto scolded, stopping at the traffic light. She made a hiss sound over the phone, then pulled out the same bracelet from before.
"We're headed towards the emergency apartment building we bought last month. It's too risky to lead the police to the main house." Seb informed her, breaking the silence.
"That's good, I'll meet up with you guys there." She answered and ended the call.
Once she did, a long heavy sigh escaped from her lips, as she relaxed into the driver's seat, and stared at the stains splattered across the car.
"Leonardo Ferrari." Vitto chanted under her breath, "I've still got some unfinished business with you. I'm not letting go of you so easily."
