...MILKY WAY GALAXY.....
...THE SOLAR SYSTEM....
...SOMEWHERE IN JUPITER.....
... HEADQUARTERS OF THE USSPA....
" What do you mean by that Lira?!" Lord Damian barked at the Neptunian lady. She and some other lords were turning their backs on them, on the agency, on the system as a whole, the Earthling lord was enraged. "What do you mean by your planet will not a involve yourselves in this?
"Am pretty sure you heard me clearly the first time" she said nonchalantly, her purple eyes focusing on no exact place and totally neglecting the mode change in the Earthling's demeanour. She was a being of the colder region, so to say and this fact irritated the earthling.
"Do you even hear yourself? Lira, think about the consequences. You should reason properly?" Lord Damian tried to instill some sense into the arrogant lady's cranium.
"This incoming war has nothing to do with Neptune, Earth has by far the largest population, therefore, they should be able to handle themselves. In the most, if they need any help and I strongly doubt they will, we could then, come into the war with just a few of our troops. We can't just sacrifice the whole of our planets' population to save another, which we obviously couldn't compare to" she argued relentlessly. "That, is in terms of mass of inhabitants ofcourse."
"Lady Lira, you can't expect it to fight a lone war! if that is the case, what is the use of the USSPA then, you render the agency nul of objectives."
" Ofcourse we can and we do expect; if I might add, a planet to be capable of fighting a war alone. To prove your worth. I do believe I am speaking the mind of the board or am I not?"
Her purple eyes scanned the room as if expecting an answer. Incoherent mumbles could be arising from the board of lords meeting. Some were on the affirmative with the Neptunian; especially those of the colder region- the Giant planets. A few mumbled a 'not so noticable answer' while the rest of them shut their lips as if they were being torn apart between the two sides.
Lord Damian was stunned. His brain couldn't totally comprehend the information that his green-colored eyes were seeing and his ears, hearing. 'What is the meaning of this?, did earth offend the solar system?' he kept asking himself so many questions as he looked at the faces of his colleagues one by one.
"ARE YOU ALL PSYCHE!" he shouted in frustration. He couldn't just take it. He couldn't take their bullshit for much longer. "Don't you all realize that if earth falls, down goes the rest of the solar system?" he said while gritting his dentines. " Or you think that when earth is captured, whosoever did it will spare your planets? you people must be joking" he scoffed while leaning back on his chair as if to better see the expressions etched on their various faces.
"It hasn't gotten to that yet, Damian" Lord Euter retorted Lord Damien's comments. "If things to that extent, we would then discuss about that" he ended, while seriously keeping his blue eyes on the Earthling as if looking for a reaction.
"By then, the whole earth population would have been totally wiped out, you scumbag!" Lord Damian lashed at the Uranian Lord. His head, already shaking in fury.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" Lord Janus shouted at the two Lords who were seemingly in the middle of a heated exchange. Ordinarily, no one would try to the lords' frustrating remarks. But the Jovian lord was no ordinary lord. He was infact, the head of the board of lords. The two Lords immediately zipped up their remaining comments and stared daggers at each other.
"We can clearly see that this meeting is heading us no where." He was not interested- as the Lord Damian could notice- on the matter on ground. "We should all go back to our respective planets and do some reflection. Any objections?" His fierce golden eyes looked around the room for a moment. "No one" he said, stating the obvious. " This meeting is adjourned........"
"My lord" A Jovian messenger who just came in through the massive double doors which were initially closed shut, in the sense that the now held meeting was to be an indoor one. He knew he was wrong to just barge into the room without an invitation but he couldn't possibly say no to the Plutonian lord who ordered him to announce his presence.
Lord Janus felt insulted and he didn't care to hide it too. The whole attention of his board had shifted to the room's entrance. And he didn't like it one bit.
Seeing the seemingly angered face of his Lord, he immediately added. "I am sorry, my lord but Lord Pharis has just arrived." This little piece of information satisfyingly brought out the reactions he prayed for. At least, he was saved!
"Let him in" Lord Janus ordered.
"Yes my Lord" the messenger then exited. The whole room fell silent as if expecting the entrance of the Plutonian. The Plutonian lord entered the room, keeping his silver eyes on no one except the Jovian, walking straight to stand on an engraved platform of the sun, semi circularly surrounded by its nine planets starting from Mercury to Pluto and being placed from left to right respectively, on the upper part of the platform. The board of lords' meeting table- in the same semi circular shape as the engraved platform- was being carved in the shape of a crescent moon. The place of the Mercurian lord was at the right end of the table and his was at the extreme left making the Jovian Lord to sit at the exact center since his planet was the fifth from the sun. At each the lords' backs hung a colored flag representing the official colors of their planets. Brown for Mercury, Orange for Venus, Green for Earth, Red for Mars, Golden for Jupiter, Yellow for Saturn, Blue for Uranus, Purple for Neptune and Silver for Pluto. And astonishingly, the colors of the different flags were also the colors of the eyes of the different lords of the Nine planets of the solar system. More or less every creature of a particular planet had one unique colour of the eye- the color of their planets' flag. This could also be said to be used as a form of identification.
"What a lovely surprise Lord Pharis, did something happen to your planet which prompted you to grace us with your presence?" Lord Janus said sarcastically as seven other pairs of colored eye looked straight at him as if trying to telepathically ask the same question the Jovian asked.
"No, your lordship. Nothing exactly interesting happened" he replied. "I was just extremely busy, you know. Things and things......"
"Well that doesn't concern any of us, does it now?" Lord Janus rudely interrupted. "You are Hereby suspended from the Board for a month for your 'indespicable'- he didn't mind adding- absence during General meetings. Hope am clear, Any questions?"
"No, your lordship" Lord Pharis grumbled the inaudible answer, obviously not liking the insulting verdict the Jovian Lord passed on him. But wat could he do?
"You may take your leave then." Lord Janus said before looking directly at the man's silver eyes which were annoyingly staring back at him.
Lord Pharis turned, about to exit when he almost immediately, remembered something which made him smirk. He twirled around his feet still carrying that unnerving smile.
"Lord Pharis?" Lady selene asked inquisitively on behalf of the board members which attrracted the gaze of the lord in question.
"Nothing, Selene." he replied the Saturnian Lady. "I just forgot to add a little something."
"Let it be serious this time, were not here for jokes." the Martian Lord said, squinting his red eyes at his recently suspended colleague.
"Ofcourse, Morris, it will be quick." he replied the arrogant Martian.
"And what may your 'little something' be" Matt, the Mercurian Lord said while rolling his dark brown eyes as if to mock the Plutonian.
"Speak out Pharis, as you can see, we do not have much time here. This is not our homes, you know." Verona said as a matter of factly, on seeing that the Plutonian was not in a hurry to spill the beans.
The Plutonian Lord didn't respond to the Venusian Lady's' words. " Patience" he mumbled, as he looked around the room for a moment, noting their curious gazes before he spoke."We found the succeeding Overlord!" his smirk becoming more prominent as he looked again at the now frozen faces of his colleagues. He then added.
"And he's an Earthling!"
