"Lord Janus, we are recieving emergency stress calls from the other planets" a young petite lady with black hair and deep golden eyes immediately reported as she dashed through the door. She looked almost timid if not for the urgency in her voice
This sudden act made Lord Janus to almost jump from his sit. He angrily looked up from his massive desk and glared at his assistant. Wasn't she supposed to have knocked. Supposing he was engrossed in something confidential; not that she hasn't seen or heard any secret of his, she was basically his partner in crime but still she could have knocked. If it was someone else, that someone would regret his very existence.
"Luyet! What gave you the effrontery to just barge into my office without properly Knocking" he hissed at his assistant. The young lady should know more than this.
"Sorry sir, it was urgent" Luyet tried to clear herself.
"Nothing is more urgent than me trying to keep my sanity intact, young lady. Is that understood?" he asked in an obviously angry tone.
"Yes, my Lord" Luyet replied while hanging her head low, her pair of glasses was almost falling of her face now.
Lord Janus closed his eyes and sighed as if clear his head from his annoying thoughts.
"What's the current status, give it to me in detail" he said before looking up to meet his assistant's gaze.
"Uhm..okay. The other planets called for an emergency meeting sir, majorly for the matter concerning the Overlord and his retrieval to the headquarters adding that they wouldn't make it on time if a physical meeting were to be held since our planet and theirs' are quite far from each other especially those of the terrestrial planets, Sir" Luyet said.
"When exactly did they send such message to us" Lord Janus inquired.
"Uhm...Saturn, Neptune, Earth, Mercury and Uranus called yesterday's evening. She said as she corrected her glasses was o rest well on the bridge of her nose. "While Mars called this morning when you were away at the imperial" she ended.
"Pluto didn't make a call?" Lord Janus asked.
"Up till now, they haven't. We are still expecting"
Lord Janus elbows rested on the table while his jaw rested on his folded hands. He seemed for a reply but it didn't come so she decided to ask the questions.
"What should I do, sir?"
"I don't know, can't you see am thinking about it" the Lord half shouted.
All these stupid employees of his that are just basically useless for him. He had to be the one doing all the thinking. He just rarely collected advices from people he dimmed fit. He couldn't allow anyone to do the main work because that person may as well think his entire plans into oblivion.
"You can leave if you don't have anything else to say. When I think of something I will let you know" he told his assistant.
But the lady didn't make. She just stood there like frozen statue as if she didn't hear a word that came out from the Jovian Lord's mouth.
"Luyet" Lord Janus called out.
"You. can. Leave" he said stressing each syllable.
"But..." she started to say.
"LEAVE!" Lord Janus shouted at his assistant out of dire frustration while pointing at the door.
"Yes my Lord" she immediately said as she hurriedly left the room.
Lord Janus was already vexed out. What was this kind of behavior she just displayed? Was she planning on killing him? He brushed all that aside after a moment; he had other things to think about. All those damn planetarian Lords couldn't even wait for a second before making calls. Wasn't it just yesterday that they had there last meeting? And then again, the Plutonians didn't make a call. Was it because they already knew?
He had to do something fast about this Incase they sent someone or people ahead of him without letting him know. That will be bad for him since the cloners he dispatched the other couldn't complete their mission as they perished there. It was either the Overlord dealt with them or the Earthling Lord had a hand in this. Either if the two wasn't ab good option for him but he preferred that the new Overlord knew than Lord Damian. He would be safer that way. Even though their bodies were no longer on Earth; If any planet decided to send someone to retrieve the Overlord, he could as well blabber his experience to them. He didn't know for sure the in-depth of the knew Overlord's knowledge in such affairs. He needed that emergency meeting that they were all itching for too. Urgently too. He immediately tapped his watch.
"Schedule a meeting with the board of Lords in two hours time. Presence is mandatory" he said hurriedly to the hologram of his assistant that appeared almost immediately. He didn't give her chance to utter a single word before he disabled the hologram.
What he needed was some peace and quiet to gather up his thoughts in preparation for the meeting.
