Rudy didn't mind the looks, instead he focused on his surroundings. The park was like heaven to him.
The green grasses swayed under the calming breeze of the wind, and the sun allowed the it to glow even more.
The skies were blue, and beautiful and the weather was just –
"Haah." Rudy sighed, his chest look as if it was going to explode before it calmed down.
Some people, gave him weird looks due to how strange he was acting. But they didn't place much thought on him after a while.
"Misha…" he said, looking at her.
"Young master?" She placed her hair behind her ears, and raised her brow.
"Thank you."
Whoosh!
The air whistled and Misha looked flabbergasted after hearing his words.
There was an odd silence in the air, that seemed to be suffocating for Rudy. He wasn't the best in socializing.
In fact, he might be called a noob in that regard. But even so, he wanted to express his gratitude to Misha.
After all, she had been with him… ever since he lost the ability to use his legs. No- even before that.
He knew that she blamed herself, deep down, somewhere in her heart. He noticed because ever since then, she was just less livelier and didn't talk very often unless needed.
"It wasn't your fault." He said, and he meant it from the depth of his heart.
Misha's eyes turned watery and she wiped the tears from her eyes, using the sleeve of her maid suit.
"Thank you Rudy." She nodded before smiling. "I really needed that."
Rudy cast a glance at her and silently marveled at how dazzling she looked at the moment.
"It's just that I don't want you to blame yourself. Nothing more." He said as he looked down.
"Mhn." She nodded.
The duo proceeded to move around the park, taking in the dense and fresh air. Larry, the driver was of course waiting in the car. And he didn't plan to leave until both of them arrived.
Rudy, glanced at the sky and saw it darkening. He knew that it wasn't supposed to rain today, after watching the weather forecast. And yet, such a thing was soon to happen.
Misha looked somewhere absentmindedly. She was lost in thought it seems – he wondered.
He was about to call out to her, but a book appeared on his lap. The wind infront of his face whistled fiercely.
Instantly he was confused. First of all, how and why did it just appear on his lap. But he felt the air being torn through.
To try and see whether he was hallucinating or not, he brought his hand close to it and grasped it. He immediately felt the smooth cover of the book in his hands.
'This is certainly real…' he thought with wide eyes.
Moreover, if the book fell at such speeds, it would have hurt him badly. But it didn't.
"Teleportation?" He asked himself in a dazed state. He didn't realize he said it out loud, attracting Misha's gaze.
"Pardon?" She said with raised eyebrows. She was sure she heard her young master say something.
"It's nothing." He waved it off with a wry smile.
She nodded, turning away but seeing a black book laying down and Rudy's lap, she was confused.
She knew he had not brought any item with him. So how did he have it?
Rudy saw her look at his lap, and he knew he just couldn't tell her it appeared out of nowhere. He would look like a crazy person.
So his mind went to overdrive before he said to her.
"I put it under my shirt. It was quite uncomfortable." He lied through his teeth. If anyone saw him, he would seem like the most genuine person ever.
But looks can be deceiving at times.
"Okay." Misha said not paying too much attention on that.
Suddenly, a booming sound echoed throughout the skies, and both of them understood it was their cue to leave, under the dark clouds.
It didn't take long for them to reach the black sedan, and soon their car was going up the mountain. Which was owned by Rudy's family.
The Ainsworth family.
After twenty minutes they arrived at the mansion. It didn't take long since it was their property and there was no traffic at all.
Rudy stayed inside the car whilst, Misha and Larry left, getting wet under the drops of water falling from the sky.
The rain started a few minutes ago, and was only getting fiercer.
It didn't take long for Misha to return, and put Rudy on his wheelchair. This time, an umbrella was placed on a spot on the chair allowing it to stand properly, and deflect the rain.
Misha took the front desk this time. She didn't want to make a hassle and pass through the garden.
They reached the front door, which was as wealthy looking as ever. And she pushed him towards his room, allowing the smooth mechanism to kick in.
Sometime later, they arrived at Rudy's room. She placed him beside his bed, and waited her next orders.
"Go and take a bath, you can't get a cold on my watch." He smirked, and she was stunned for a second before taking her leave – to do as she was told.
"Haiz." He sighed like a character from a show he had watched. "It's time to check out this book. So mysterious…"
"Better hope it's not the life taking note. I wouldn't want a death god on my ass."
Without further ado, he opened the book and read the contents in the first page.
'More like the only page.' He said to himself once more. It only had one page. He was deceived by it's looks!
Regardless, he continued to read.
"Soul Bound Contract of Aurora Nightingale. Drop some blood onto the paper and fill the runic circle below. To summon her, and be eternally Soul Bound.
Note: Aurora Nightingale is a-" He stopped, because the rest was cut of from it.
"Some fat load of dog shit." He shook his head sighing. "And here I thought it was some mysterious fantasy."
A few hours had passed, and it was time for Rudy to go to bed. He was tired, and needed some rest.
But his mind was occupied about the mysterious book ever since.
"It doesn't make sense." He said, clutching his hair. "But if it just appeared suddenly like that, it might actually be true…"
He turned his gaze to the book on his desk.
He remembered what he had to do, but he didn't have anything sharp to work with.
"Damn, guess I will use the good old brutal way." He said, steeling himself.
He opened his mouth wide, clamping down hard on his unprepared thumb, feeling the blood slide down his throat.
The pain assaulted his mind, but he didn't want it to fail. He zoomed to the book and opened it, and immediately began tracing the patterns on it with his crimson red blood.
Soon, he was done. But nothing seemed to work. Nothing happened. The room was the same, as it always was.
No woman. No magic. A fake.
"Damn, did I do something wrong?" He began to re-read everything, but he did it.
"A ruse it was!" he gritted his teeth. But his eyes managed to land on a small, barely noticeable text at the apex right corner.
"Chant: I summon, The Devil, Aurora Nightingale…"
The room trembled and the paper glowed. He felt his soul leaving his body, and his mind banging almost exploding, it felt.
He did it! But why this pain!? It seemed he didn't really understand that what he was doing was risky. Even after literal uttering "the devil"!
Was he really that dumb?
.
.
.
Everything stopped a few seconds later.
"You dare summon me… human." A haughty, melodious and sexy voice echoed in his ears, that couldn't help but perk up.
'This voice… Wait… Did I just summon a devil!?'
"I Aurora Nightingale, gives you permission to say your last words… weak scum!"
