As the guests left, it remained just Alexander and Melody in the room, while she sat uncomfortably as she slightly fidgeted on her sit she suddenly heard a deep angel like voice,
" is the chair too uncomfortable for you" Alexander asked.
" no it's not" stated Melody as she tried to make sure her words didn't come out shaky
" then why are you fidgeting around? he asked with an eyebrow raised.
" oh um I'm just nervous" she replied licking her lips, she felt small under his prying eyes, God this was sure enough embarrassing. He kept staring at her making her feel even more uncomfortable
" could you just look away already!" then almost immediately her hand flew over her mouth she couldn't believe she just said that out loud to Alexander of all people, why did she just do that, before she could counter up a quick apology, Alexander's words left her speechless.
"well I didn't know it's some kind of taboo to look at one's wife especially during the day of their wedding" he said with a small smirk playing on his beautiful face. when suddenly the butler announced from behind the door interrupting their conversation,
"the guests have all left young master"
finally she could leave this room she thought as she carefully stood up and gathered up her dress so that she wouldn't trip over it, with her rosey cheeks still flushed from embarrassment, they were both led to the dining area of the mansion.
As she walked down the stair case with Alexander who had an arm wrapped around her waist she couldn't help but feel somewhat tense, if he taught he was helping with her anxiety right now well it wasn't, she just hoped she got down the stairs without her clumsy self embarrassing him.
" I have the prettiest daughter in-law" she heard and looked up to meet the eyes of the Michelson's, well if she felt tense before, she felt intimidated and small now.
"Janelle you are scaring her" a dark haired man said rolling his eyes
"you're just jealous"
" And why would I be?
" because she's pretty and you're not" the woman named Janelle retorted.
"Alright both of you quiet down" said a man with grey slivery locks of hair and sharp eyes, nobody needed to tell her this was George Michelson the head of the Michelson family, he then turned and gestured both Alexander and herself forward.
"good day sir Michaelson" Melody said trying to make her voice sound firm.
"good day my child how are you feeling"he asked
"I'm good thank you"
" no need to stand a ceremony, come on sit, sit" he said as he gestured her to an empty chair beside him.
"thank you" sha managed to say with a small smile
"there's no need to act formally we are now family" he said with a kind smile.
Well the Michelson family weren't all that bad she thought but she couldn't say the same when she looked around the table. They all kept the same look a look of disbelief and surprise. Wait why were they all surprised she thought but oh well it was obviously none of her business.
"she's a new member of the family introduce yourselves" George said in an authoritative tone when everyone had all sat down.
The woman earlier spoke first.
" hello I'm Janelle I'm Alex's mother nice to meet you, you can call me Jane or mom" she said with a smile
"nice to meet you too jane" Melody replied with a small smile.
"hi I'm Lucas I'm Alex's father" said the man who Janelle had been bickering with. oh they were husband and wife why wasn't she surprised.
"nice to meet you too Mr Lucas" she replied
"hello I'm Anthony and this is my wife amber, I'm Alex elder brother" he said
"nice to meet both of you" Melody replied
hi I'm Damien, hi am Kate, hello I'm David, hello I'm Joshua the introduction went on and on till she felt dizzy, how the actual fuck was she going to remember all their names she screamed inwardly. The dinner went on smoothly with just a little chattering and the soft clicking of cutleries and Janelle adding food to Melody's plate. After the dinner she and Alexander said their goodbyes and we're off to their home.
"Make sure to take care of her"Janelle said as she gently stroked Alexander's hair.
"yes Mom" he replied with no expression on his handsome face
" very well then, off you go, your bride is tired" she stated as she looked back at Melody in the car with half closed eyes.
" don't be too hard on her it was also a forced marriage on her part, I want her to be happy.
"yes mother I'll try" he said also looking towards Melody who was already asleep.
" alright" she said as her heart clenched at the sight of her son walking away again at least this time he'll be around afterall he has a wife to take care of.
"Jenelle let's go inside it's getting cold" Lucas said as he hugged her from behind.
" Am just worried about him"
"his not a child anymore Jenelle, come on let head inside"
