Chapter 8 - Recruitment

IAN

POV

It was strange walking through the forest, for so long and not encountering any monsters. It was as if they, had all been moved purposefully. Ian, had a feeling that something big was going on hi sharp mind quickly pick upped, that something was not right this, was what lead him to the decision that there party should separate from there group of 50. After, a back and forth between his party in the party's chat group they separated silently left heading in another direction much faster than they were moving before " I, hope your hunch is correct dude, if not I, am leaving this party and moving on to explore the new zones" Sam said with a bit of annoyance on his face. Ian had a bitter smile on his face as said "If I, am wrong this we, will leave this kingdom. Have you heard? The Theocracy, to the west are has been giving out high ranking quest like crazy." With a thoughtful look on her face Lisa asked "Is that true? I wonder why? " Yeah, I read it on a forum last night, apparently that player Reaper, that has been attacking, and weakening them has vanished. They, just need to clean up the organization that he, left behind."

"They are even taking credit for killing him, but, how could that be possible Reaper is a player how could he possibly jus die."

The party fell silent pondering over this Reaper, was know as one of the best if not the best player skillful, and being at the top rank at that time no, player, dared to offend him, out of fear for the cost of such actions, after all the guy had some questionable taste. Nevertheless he, guy was a legend even now his name was feared by the NPCs, and respected by the players. Some fanatics even worshiped him, truly a top tier player.

As they continued walking through the forest they, begun to pick up the smell of something burning it was very disgusting. Wondering what could possibly cause such a strong scent Ian, followed the smell and so did the other when thy arrived "AHHHH!" Lisa, screamed, and begun to vomit at the sight in front them, they were burnt trees, large crater, large claw shaped marked all over but, what truly messed up there minds were the tore up bodies of the NPCs still in the area.

"A massacre happened here, the monster(s) could still be around, don't let your guard down!"

With that shout from Ian, the partly snapped back to sense, and started to look around with caution.

POV

Roy was flying through the sky having just wiped out another group that should be the 8th. Two more to go thinking about this Roy, begun to think of his next steps. The players I killed should already have Respawned and spreading new about the dragon in the forest. Roy was not bothered he, did not have to worry about a bunch of players rushing towards the forest because they would need to repair their equipment. This gave him enough time to finish off the rest of the groups and send his army to begin the invasion, and subsequent destruction of the human lands to the north. Roy's body from head toe was covered in blood due to all the lives of the NPC's he had killed although the blood didn't bother him in fact he, kind of liked it. The seen of a meter long dragon with dark scales, painted with blood would scare anyone shitless.

On the matter of players there was still the fact of their ability to respawn endlessly as long as respawn points were safe. These respawn points were usually the Churches/ Temples that is located in every city, town, and village. There is also the choice of respawning in one's guild base, this meant that usually the way to win a guild war was to destroy the other's base. It was the same principle Roy had to have his army follow but on a much larger scale.

Flying over the forest to the next group Roy's, sharp eyes picked up party of 4 at one of his, last kill sights. An idea popping up in his head' I need human spies, and what better than players. Roy, directly landed in front of them, and before giving them time to react he spoke to them in deep dark voice;

"I, am the great Arashi Drachen"

The player in front of him had, a shocked looked on their face as they only expected to be killed and not directly spoken too. One of them who seemed to be an elven archer stepped forward as the rest were still shocked;

"I aM Ian, might I, ask what does the great dragon want with us."

"I sense great potential in you, and you don't seem to be apart of the rats invading my forest. Become my minions and I, will reward you greatly"

Ding!

'Unique world affecting chain quest triggered'

Looking at the sudden quest the party just stared at the dragon in front of them dumbly. They did not know if to accept this was basically an evil dragon, a monster, an enemy of the races. Accepting this would mean betraying the races. SO WHAT!? This was a game and they were playing for fun. What would be cooler than playing as the super villains. So, with a second more delay the shouted in sync "I, ACCPET!"
