Lockwood Village, was located close to the border of the great forest. The relatively well off they made revenue from lumber, and herb picking from the forest. It was a peaceful village by all standards but, at this moment the village was in a massive uproar.
"Captain we, are ready to attack"
"Advance!"
I shouted loudly while watching troops entrusted to me by the great lord begin to move. Looking at this village it did not seems that they would be able to put up much of a fight, in the first place there were barley any defenders as, all the able body men were drafted for the expedition in the forest and none of them had returned. It was like a turtle without a shell just waiting to die. The orders that were given by the general, was to kill every living thing in the village and plunder the village. We, would not be burning the houses, as they were set to become ours, in the future we, did not need the food either because this was meant to be a swift take our what the gathering squad managed to forage, and hunt would be enough, so the food would be left in the villages for later. What the army desperately needed was equipment, they were monsters who lived in the forest with no technique required for forging. Most of the troops aside from the elites were either carry a big logs, or stones, with poorly made slingshots.
They need to be careful as an ordinary human, could match a goblin, or even surpass them in strength, and in this case the humans ha the better equipment, weather it was a farmer with a hoe, or a random housewife with a pitchfork they all had a resolute expression on there faces as they were ready to defend their homes with everything they had. There were also a few players here but they only held there heads down as they coursed there bad luck "Why the fuck are we stuck in this backwater village, when the main fight is happening in the capital" A bald player yelled at his party leader who had emotionless face as he replied "My bad I thought we could scout out the forest before the monster riot happened but we, ended up getting caught up in this invasion." "You thought!? We're gonna die here with no gain! Did you see the leader of this army a freaking mithril rank!" The leader was well aware of what awaited them, if it was jus the army without the leader they, would stand a chance but of course there, was a mithril rank, how could mere gold ranks stand up to a mithril rank. They were screwed and the village was done for that was the only thought going through there minds.
Monsters Captain POV
I, begun to move to the front of the army as I knew I was the strongest present, and I also wanted to keep the number of deaths to a minimum. There were no walls just a wooden fence around the village. Lifting my giant great sword high above I, made one strong slash downwards, breaking the fence into countless toothpicks and making the people in the village resolve shake a bit, with a big smile on my face I, walked into the village casually. Instantly about 50 middle age men approached some of them, even had swords 'What a lucky find.' Without giving them time to form up properly I, jumped high into the sky and landed in the middle of them smashing about 5 of them to death, I, swung the great sword in a fan shaped arc cleaving a ton of them, into meat paste, making sure to keep the swords and other equipment out of the way I, continued my massacre the 50 men. There was no technique to what I was doing just using my brute strength and speed to overpower them and quickly end the fight.
After seeing 50 of there strong defenders, die off in 3 minutes the morale of the village completely collapsed at this moment so when the army strolled in it was easy picking over 500 had died most were elderly, young, and disable all died without question. It was otter brutality the streets were covered in blood even the players were not spared as, ordered by the great lord himself the church was destroyed and after settling things in the village this division of the army begun to move to rejoin the main body.
This was the same seen in all the villages, after a mere 2 hours and the culprits, did not there celebrate for too long as they knew they main showdown was about to begin. With excitement in there hearts they marched to join the the general in his fight for the capital.
They had no idea just how brutal the fight ahead was going to be...
