Chapter 4 - Nathaniel McCool

They came of the car one after the other then walked graciously into the twenty storey office building covered entirely with glass.

The transparent glass two way door was opened by the door man dressed in a black suit.

" Welcome, ma'am ", he said with a slight bow.

" Thanks ", they said in unison as the walked to the reception.

The reception smelt the fragrance of different types of flowers, it smelled more like you just walked into a flower garden. The sweet smell that circulated round the room was able to lighten up a person's mood.

Looking around, she saw that the walls were cover with portraits of the last 28 heads of the Council, including the present head, Nicholas Brooke. The decor was really a wow but it gave a vintage aura.

The receptionist saw them immediately they walked and quickly went to welcome them as she had been informed before hand of their coming.

" Good morning ma'am. Welcome, the Minister is expecting you ", the receptionist, Claire said with a warm smile.

" Let me take you to her ", she added without hesitation. The three of them followed her as she left to a hallway with different artefacts. It looked like a mini museum with all the small statues and painting of ancient history.

Admiring one of the small statues, Charlotte forgot that she was to get on the elevator which was at the end of the hallway.

" Ma'am this way ", Claire said bringing her back.

" Yes ", she replied softly before walking to the elevator. Claire entered last then pushed the button with the number 17 and the elevator doors closed.

After some time, a ding sound was suddenly heard and the elevator doors opened giving way to another hallway but instead with abstract paintings. The paintings spoke more than what it showed, it was quite attractive.

As they walked down the hallway they came to a stop at the front of a tinted glass double door.

" Wait here. I will let her know you guys are here ", Claire said before knocking and entering the room.

" Hey Charl look ", Trinity said making her turn to see what she was talking about.

Looking at the thing she was talking about, Charlotte couldn't help but be amazed. It was a painting that explained the life cycle of the ancient Estoria kingdom. The one kingdom that breeder the best soldiers of the ancient times.

" A true artiste ", she said.

" Agreed ", Trinity and Charlie said together.

" Please come in ", Claire's voice was heard behind them all of a sudden from the half opened door.

Turning around, they went into the room which was apparently a conference room as they entered. Seeing them the Minister, Mrs Rachel McCool, who was sitting at the head of the table stood up to welcome them.

" My darlings!! ", she exclaimed with arms agape as she approached them.

They exchange kisses with her before having a seat. It was at that moment that they realized that someone else was in room too.

Noticing the person who they looked at with a surprised expression. " Forgive my manners . . . this is my first son, well my only child.

Extending his hand while beaming a sweet smile which made look a little more handsome he said, " The name is Nathaniel McCool but you can call me Nathan ", looking at Charlotte still smiling.

" Nice to meet you ", Charlotte replied without shaking his hands.

Redrawing back his hand he said still smiling, " It's actually my pleasure getting to meet the last daughter of the Coranos. I'm must also equally acknowledge your beauty. I don't really know your name "

A little uncomfortable with the way he kept smiling at her and then the compliment she still replied, " Thanks. . . The name is Charlotte Josephine Kathelia Corano ".

" Charlotte. . . it sounds like you are a daring free- willed lady "

" I guess so ".

Noticing this, Rachel could see that her son as develop some kind of interest in Charlotte and an idea quickly came to her. She has always wanted a daughter like Charlotte, so she decided that it won't be bad to have her as a daughter-in-law.

" But also ', she thought, ' I still need to ask Nathan about it. That will be later "
