If there is one thing, I've learned is that family doesn't end with blood. Yes, being blood related makes it different. But sometimes the ones that you call family, the ones that don't share the same bloodline are the ones who are better for you. The ones you need the most. At the end, you don't choose your blood relatives. But everyone needs, everyone deserves a family. The most important thing I've learned is that Family... is forever. Every family has a story. And this, this is the story about the family Mckenzie.
Told by the youngest of four children. Moanah.
After the accident, Ian never became the same man again. He took his children and moved to Huntington Beach California. There he built a new life, and more. He fell in love again. He remarried and his children had two-step brothers and one stepsister. Welcome to the story of the Mckenzie family. Let's start by drawing a clear picture of the families who sometimes seem to kill each other.
As in every family there is new family and old family, married on family and step family. Family isn't just a word anymore. It is a whole essay by now. Step, In law, no matter what... Once you are family, there is no going back. They just place an Ex before it. I never knew why, is to make it sounds like you don't belong anymore?
No matter what they name it... Family is a commitment. And boy is that something a work in progress!
But let's not further drift off. Every big family needs that big brother, right? And in this case, it wasn't different. If I want to introduce you to this work in progress family, we'll better start with the eldest of the "new" family members.. David...
David
David is that seventeen-year-old boy that every girl on school loves to be with. Promised prom king and football star. I know, Stereotype much?
But stereotypes are meant to be broken. Cause except for his strong, muscular and kind of tall body... He does not fit the stereotype. Sure, he has a handsome face, dark wavy hair and bright blue eyes.
But he is also not interested in the girls who call themself future prom queen. Yes, he can be kind of a dick. But if you leave him alone, he shows his true nature. Kind, sweet and a bit of a loner. That is if he likes you ofcourse.
Hope
His sister, Hope on the other hand... Now that was a work in progress. She was like most 16-year-old girls... Keeping up with the latest new trends... Now she is what they would call "a mean girl." She desperately believes that she is and will be prom queen. As head of the cheerleaders.. It is so be expected also.
Her long dark red hair is always perfectly styled. Her dark brown eyes are always perfectly contoured by makeup.
Her slender body is always dressed in designer clothes. But only the more expensive ones. She deliberately searches for clothes that make her small round breasts look bigger.
Needless to say, that she is kind of a bitch.
Robin
As the third "new family" child there comes after a gap of almost six years. Robin.
Robin is that kind of boy who is interested in the opposite of popular trends. Bugs, science, and the galaxy. He is almost obsessed with logical explanations and not shy to share them with anyone who dares to speak with him.
As if that isn't enough for him – to NOT make friends- he wears big black straight glasses before his deep brown eyes.
His dark blonde hair is short and always hangs wild over his round face. The gift of height nor strength isn't given either to him since he is short and skinny, compared to other kids of his age.
Needless to say, that he spends most of his schooldays. Bullied and alone.
Tristan
If you think right now that Hope is probably the most annoying 16-year-old girl this family, can I have... I must confess that you are wrong. What could possibly go wrong, in one house with not one but tree sixteen-year old's right?
Of course, as good as everything. If not, Ian his eldest son Tristan will make sure this happens. Mainly because of his –always grumpy- mood.
Tristan is the kind of teenage boy where you don't really know if he is your friend... Or your foe.
He isn't entirely sure if he is Metal of Emo. Somewhere between those he created his own style. He can't figure out life just yet.
Almost all the school girls go wild about him. But he couldn't care less. He doesn't (like to) fit in.
His long black shoulder length hair hangs mostly over his bright blue eyes. His strong pale, muscular body is always dressed in black.
Tristan used to be Moanah her hero. Now he is just rude, mean... shortly an ass.
Selina
But don't worry, there is more... Tristan has a twin sister... Selina.
Selina is easily to describe. She is the best friend of Hope... And the reasons why are obvious. Even though Hope envy's Seline her beauty. Both of them became the leaders. Or shall I say queens of the cheerleaders.
Hope and Selina have more in coming though. They both love to dress in designer clothes, be a mean girl and they both believe that they will be prom queen.
To be fair. Selina has more chances of being prom queen as Hope. She fits the stereo type just that little drip more.
Long blond hair, bright blue eyes, slender body with round breasts, soft tanned skin...
A perfect Queen... of mean.
Mason
Mason, he is a tad more work... He is that boy that you wouldn't expect to be fifteen.
In comparison as other boys of his age he is quite the outsider. Calm, silent, emotional... depressed...
He doesn't really figure out people. Hell, he doesn't even know if he likes people at all. Sadly, for a hand full of girls because he is quite an attractive boy. He is a bit shorter as Tristan, also less muscled. A bit paler but he has the same bright blue eyes who stare right through your soul. If you can see them at least. Cause mostly they are hidden behind his black shoulder length hair. Despite Ian told him no, he has a pair of snakebite piercings and a septum.
Moanah
You know the stereotype they say about being the youngest child... well almost all are true. Special for Moanah. She will be always Ian his special little angel. No matter what.
She does look older than fourteen. She also behaves elder as a common fourteen-year-old but in fact, she is the youngest of this big... big... well big family. And still, she is so much different as her brothers or sister. According to Ian she is a perfect image of her mother. Moanah never knew if this makes him proud, or pains him. Her long coconut wavy brown hair, soft blue eyes, slender body with full round breasts, and soft tanned skin make her one of the prettiest girls in the school. She is such a kind, compassionate soul. And most of all... probably the one who cares about this family.
Ian and Amanda
So, since we are adding stereotypes anyway, let's add one more shall we? Like always behind a big... well, big family stands one strong person. The father. A working, loving father. And is this case... That will be Ian. He is kind of the stereotype father. Strict, loving, hardworking and most of all... almost never home.
Ever since he became change assurance director at the most important bank in the big city, he barely spends quality time with his family anymore. All he thinks about is work, even in the weekend. He sits on his computer or makes a billion phone calls... Sadly sometimes people get caught up so much in work, that they just forget what comes first... what needs to come first.
The stepmother... is not what stepmothers mostly are. She isn't mean. Nor is she a gold-digger. No... she is nurse in the city's hospital. She is kinds, tries... Sometimes too hard and above all. Is soft. Probably a bit too soft for this family.
Kaylee
Well, Moanah was the youngest of the family. That until Amanda, her stepmother decided that the family wasn't work enough.
She and Ian made a new family member.... A beautiful little baby girl named Kaylee.
She is probably the most adorable six months old baby anyone ever could see. No matter what happens... She is happy. She smiles, cheers and laughs. Probably the only one in this family. Wait till she gets older...
So that makes it one.. Big.. Let's just keep it with big family. Happy family doesn't really fit the picture. Why? I'll tell you why!
