EROS' POV
As soon as I got to my office I slumped on my chair. I am already exhausted even before the day starts and it's just 8:30am. I beeped my secretary to come and fill me in on my schedule for the day.
After my secretary left, my best buddy Ivan grandly announced his presence from the door
"Hey E, Sup?" He said as he came in. "Wow, what's wrong with your face this morning, did you have a hook up gone wrong or what?" He asked
I just gave him the stink eye because I was not in the mood to talk nor reply him. Well I guess he got the message loud and clear because he immediately sat down quietly.
"I just came to brief you on the Rodriguez deal, the man seems like a hard nut to crack and a difficult man to please" he said.
"When was the last time you had contact with him?" I asked. "That should be three days ago and I was very sure he was really impressed with our plan and contract so I don't really know the sudden change in him" Ivan completed.
"When is your next meeting with him?" I asked Ivan. "It is today by noon, Why are you asking though?" He replied
"Well since he is proving to be a hard nut to crack, I guess the nutcracker has to step in don't you think?" I replied smirking. Now I guess I will have a little fun today after my mum tried to ruin my day.
I beeped my secretary and informed her about a change in plans as regards my schedule and then started to attend to the files that needed my attention.
After the meeting with Mr Rodriguez which involved lots of persuasion and all, he accepted. Sides what's with the delay when I knew our offer was really tempting and irresistible, I guess businessmen and their ego works hand in hand. I and Ivan decided to have lunch at the hotel since through out the meeting we did more of talking than eating.
"So what was wrong with you earlier today? You really looked pissed when you came in the morning? Ivan asked. "Just some family issues nothing much" I replied
"Man you were riled up up this morning so I know it is definitely nothing" he tried to persuade me.
"Mum wants me to get married" I blutered out and immediately Ivan choked on the steak he had in his mouth.
"What? You!! Get married" Ivan shouted all at once." Hey man calm down", I told him because after his shouting few people in the restaurant started staring at us weirdly and I hate attention the most.
"So what did you say? Because last I checked other than your hook up sessions with Claire I don't think you have any serious relationship or anyone to get married to" He continued while drinking his water.
"You think I don't know that already", I retorted.
"And hope you know too that Claire ain't wife material either. That girl is a real gold digger, I mean she is as real as they come". Ivan added.
"Honestly, thinking and talking about these right now is giving me a migraine already, I don't even want to settle down yet. My life is just beginning" I complained anguishly.
" Truthfully, I don't think you can get out of this one. Your mum is involved for goodness sakes, so you just need to find yourself a good pretty little wife. I think I can actually help you with that, you know what they call me back in the days right. The ladies man" Ivan said smirking.
"I can actually arrange a few ladies for you, you can go on dates with them and pick the one that suits you best", He continued in an amusing tone.
I stood up, looked at him and just left angrily. How could he say that to me after telling him my plight and he calls himself my bestfriend.
"Come on man I was just trying to help" Ivan said while standing up and following me out.
"Your help ain't needed and appreciated at all" I told him while walking out fast to my car.
