Chapter 19 - Chapter 19: Manipulated Evolution

That undying chaotic creature might look like a good thing, but in fact it wasn't.

If they couldn't die, the number of souls wouldn't increase, which means that the number of chaotic creatures also wouldn't increase.

Of course, the chaotic creatures weren't really undying in the place where the cells covered them entirely.

They could die at that point.

Also, that advantage of undying was only available in the place that was covered by their cells.

Once they were outside, that advantage was gone.

Besides, the main enemies were outside the domain. Can the cells even cover the entire area outside the domain?

That was almost impossible, which also means there were still possibilities, but those possibilities were close to none.

Based on the information injected into me, once the bloodline evolves, the resources they need to use will be increased.

But that increase depends on the quality of the bloodline. The current cells only need a bit of resources, so it was almost ineligible.

But don't forget that the bloodline hasn't evolved yet, so it doesn't need lots of resources.

Once it evolves, the resources it needs will increase to mind-blowing numbers.

I am sure of that since the quality of the bloodline was high enough to do that.

Although I had lots of resources and my mother almost had infinite wealth,

I couldn't possibly feed the countless cells that would be born and evolve in the future.

Especially when they evolve, the level of the resources they need will get higher.

With that, there was no way I could cover the entire area outside the domain. Besides, I can't just use the cells to submerge everything in red blood.

I also needed to use it for many things, such as creating chaotic creatures and strengthening them, which was going to consume countless cells.

...

At this moment, the number of souls had already increased to a billion.

It was still increasing as of now, but I only killed a billion souls to make it dissipate and reincarnate.

Besides the billion souls that were still increasing as of now, I left them alone in the underworld.

The souls in the underworld keep increasing, but since the development of the plane of life wasn't done yet, I left its fate to natural evolution.

In the plane of life, millions of souls formed a ball of cells that eventually compressed and became humanoids.

As each second passed, the number of chaotic creatures was rapidly increasing.

10 million.

100 million

1 billion.

When the population reached a billion, the number of creatures stopped increasing.

Since that was the number of souls I killed in the underworld to let them dissipate and reincarnate.

When the ball of cells was being formed, they were directly submerged by the cells.

They were submerged by a kilometer-long pond with a height of a thousand kilometers, like a pillar of red blood.

Visible to the naked eye, the volume of blood was getting reduced, but in the next moment it was replenished.

When the numbers of cells were still small, the average size of the chaotic creatures was about 1 meter.

However, when the number of cells increased countless times, their average size reached 100 meters.

For some reason, even with sufficient cells, their size never increases once they reach 100 meters.

This might be related to the limits of the bloodline of the chaotic creatures.

Once the data that the bloodline gets from the cells is sufficient, it will evolve. Now that the chaotic creatures were already at their limit,

They still haven't evolved yet. Maybe there were still some parts that I don't know where were underdeveloped.

For now, the only thing I knew related to their bloodline was their size. Other than that, I have no knowledge of them.

It looks like I need to explore and investigate what parts of them haven't developed yet.

However, searching for that wasn't an easy task. It will take a lot of time and effort.

What I needed to do was manipulate cells to do an experiment, trial and error, till I discovered the underdeveloped parts of it.

Doing the natural evolution of the bloodline was hard indeed. Fortunately, there were other options for its evolution.

Natural evolution, the evolution where there is no interference,

I will manipulate evolution—the evolution where I am the one who will create the direction, method, and way of its evolution.

Of course, I'm going to go with the manipulated evolution.

Although it might be weaker than natural evolution, since all evolution was decided by me.

That sounds good, since I can control it, but that was harder than it looks.

I need to do many things, such as designing, creating a direction, method, way of its evolution, and many more.

There was lots of work compared to natural evolution. However, once I perfect that, it can surpass natural evolution by countless times.

Natural evolution might be easier than manipulated evolution, but it was also hard.

Once there was a mistake in the direction of natural evolution, it will affect it as a whole and produce negative effects.

However, once the direction was right, there were only positive effects.

At worst, the maximum and potential of the creatures will be below average. It was also possible that the creatures could be born.

Even if they do, their shapes were distorted, missing parts of their bodies, irregular behaviors, and mental disorders.

All those things were possible, and the only thing that caused them to be like that was the wrong direction of natural evolution.

...

In the plane of life.

The number of chaotic creatures was now a billion. All of them were now wandering outside the safe zone since it was now full and submerged by their cells.

From time to time, they go back inside once they get injured.

However, the chaotic creatures can't live forever in such a harsh environment.

It was no problem for them to live for millions of years due to the improvement in their adaptation to it.

Every second that passed, their adaptation to the harsh environment was also increasing, which meant that their lifespan was also increasing.
