A film of light covered me as I teleported out of my domain, then a figure suddenly hit me. I glanced at it and saw it was Deirdre.
"Kyaaaa! Ghost!" Deirdre screamed out of her lungs, which almost made my ears deaf. before she ran away without looking back.
*Sigh
I sighed as I looked at myself. Maybe due to the film of light covering me that hasn't faded yet, she thought it was a ghost.
At this moment, when the film covering me finally faded, an angry voice suddenly sounded, "Who dares to scare my baby girl?!".
It was a familiar voice; it was my big sister, Desdemona, mother of Deirdre. Ahead of me, she was approaching with Deridre quivering between her arms and chest.
She said to her daughter, after seeing me with a softened voice, "What were you afraid of? It was the young master, not a ghost."
"No!" Deirdre denied it and said, "It wasn't my brother! It was a ghost!."
"How about taking a look?" Desdemona said.
"No! I'm scared!" Deirdre replied.
"It was really your brother, not a ghost," Desdemona said.
"Don't lie!" Deirdre said.
"Just take a look and see if I'm lying," Desdemona said.
"No!" Deirdre said.
"Just take a look!" Desdemona said.
"No!" Deirdre said.
"If you don't want to, then don't. However, do you want to see which one of us was scarier, the ghost or me?" Desdemona said with a smile.
To Deirdre, that smile was no different from a smile from the devil.
"I don't want to know! Because I already knew Mommy was scarier!" Deridre said.
"Since you know which one was scarier, how about you take a look," Desdemona suggested.
"But..." Deridre said.
"No buts, if you don't want to see which one was scarier," Desdemona said.
"Okay..." Dierdre said before slowly turning her head towards me.
She saw me and said, "It's my brother!"
"See? You didn't believe me," Desdemona said.
Deirdre directly ignored her and said, "Brother, you scared me! I hate you!"
"Sorry about that, it wasn't intentional though," I said.
"Hump! It doesn't matter, I still hate you!" Deirdre said.
"Then what can I do for you to forgive me?" I asked with a wry smile.
"Grant me a wish!" Deirdre said.
"Just one wish, okay?" I said.
"Okay, however, you should promise me to fulfill whatever I wish!" Deridre said.
"Okay, I promise," I said.
She nodded and said, with a satisfied smile, "Good, now I forgive you."
"So what was your wish?" I asked.
"I will tell you later," Deirdre said.
"All right," I replied.
"Mom, can you put me down, please?" Deirdre said.
"Okay," Desdemona said before gently putting her down from her embrace.
"Thank you! Mommy!" Deridre said.
"You're welcome," Desdemona said, patting her on the head.
"Hehehe~" Deirdre mumbled while enjoying her mother's warm hand on her head.
"Okay, that was enough," Desdemona said before retracting her hand.
"Aww," Deirdre said in disappointment.
"Ohh! I almost forgot, Deirdre, where did you put our gifts for the young master?" Desdemona said.
"It was in the living room," Deirdre replied.
"I see," Desdemona said.
"Brother, let's go. I will give you my gift." Deirdre said before taking my hand and impatiently pulling me towards the living room.
As the two of us walked towards the living room, my big sister followed us from behind. After entering it, we saw my mother sitting on the couch.
She was clearly waiting for us.
"You've arrived," Audelia said.
I nodded.
"Sit beside me," Audelia said.
"Okay," I said before sitting down on the couch. My sister did the same, but she sat on my left while my mother was on my right.
Deirdre took something from the table that was in front of us before saying, "Brother, this was my gift to you!"
I took it with both my hands before saying "Thank you".
"You're welcome, hehehe," Dierdre chuckled.
Desdemona took out a box from her pocket before saying, "Young master, my gift might not have worth, but please accept it."
I said before taking it. "It doesn't matter if your gift was expensive or not, as long as it came from you, I will accept and cherish it with care."
"Wow, Ubel, where did you learn those words? If you say those words to someone, I bet their stomach will be full of butterflies," Audelia said.
She looked at Desdemona and asked, "Right?"
Desdemona didn't answer, but her cheeks reddened a bit, which can't be noticed at a single glance. This silence remained for a while.
I couldn't bear this awkward silence, so I broke it by saying, "I didn't learn it from anyone, I learned it on my own."
"I see, it looks like I need to teach you a lesson so you won't become a playboy that breaks women's hearts," Audelia joked.
"Mom, stop joking," I said.
"Fine fine, by the way, this was my gift for you," Audelia said before giving me a box.
I took it and noticed that the box was the same as the previous two that were given by Desdemona and Dierdre.
The only difference was the size. Dierdre's box was the biggest, the second was the big sister box, and lastly, the mother's box was the tiniest.
"Brother, open it! Open it! Open it!" Deirdre said.
"Sure," I said before opening one of the boxes. The first box I opened was from my mother. Inside was a locket with no pictures inside.
The design of the locket was simple and golden in color. At first glance, it looks like a locket that can be seen anywhere.
But the design inside was so exquisite and well made. It can be seen that the artist focused on the inside appearance instead of the outside.
"You can choose what picture you want to put in it," Mother said.
"Okay," I said before opening the box that my big sister had given me. Inside, it was glasses that made the wearer look professional and smart.
I smiled wryly about this gift, but recalling the personality of Big Sis, it seemed natural that she'd gift me something like this.
