Chapter 12 - Chapter 12: Underworld Rule

Lastly, I opened the box that Deirdre had given me. Inside was a pair of black leather gloves.

I touched it carefully. Its texture was smooth both inside and outside. There was cotton inside it, which made it comfortable for my hand to wear.

After looking through all their gifts, three of them suddenly asked at the same time. "How was it?"

I replied, "I love it. Thank you mother, big sister, sister."

"That was good to hear," Audelia said.

"Brother, I made that! I made that!" Deirdre said.

"Oh? These gloves were made by you?" I asked in suspicion.

"What? You don't believe it?" Deirdre asked.

"No way, of course I believe in you!" I replied.

"What she said was true; our gifts were all made by us," Audelia said.

In the corner of my eyes, I saw my big sister, Desdemona, nodding in silence.

"I see. Then once again, I will thank you for giving me beautiful handmade gifts," I said.

"Hehe, no problem," Deirdre replied.

"Young master, it was no big deal," Desdemona said.

"It didn't take a lot of time to create, and besides seeing your reaction, it felt like our time and effort was worth it," Audelia said.

Desdemona nodded in agreement and said, "Right."

"You don't need to be so thankful, brother, since my birthday was only a few weeks away, I expect a gift from you that will surprise me a lot!" Deridre said.

"Don't worry, I will surely give you something surprising," I replied, before giving her a head pat.

"Hehehe," Dierdre mumbled with a silly smile while enjoying my warm hand on her head.

"By the way, mother, can you give me some resources?" I asked.

My mother said, "No problem," and with a wave of her hand, resources directly entered my storage ring.

I took a look at my storage ring and saw the resources that my mother gave me, which made me take a breath due to its amount.

There were 10,000 world origins and 10,000 sub elements such as ice, poison, nature, miasma, etc.

There were a total of 10,000 energy beads that contained different kinds of energy.

There were also tens of thousands of genes, or bloodlines, of different kinds of races.

There were 10,000 resources, each of which was equivalent to the resources of a single plane or planet.

"Thank you, mother!" I said.

"You're welcome," Audelia replied.

"Mom, can I..." I said, but I was interrupted in the middle.

"I know what you want to say, just go. I know how badly you want to go back to your domain and do many things," Audelia said.

She continued, "Make me proud of you, don't disappoint me, and prove to me that all those resources that I gave to you were worth it".

I assured her, "Don't worry, mother; I will live up to your expectations and not let you down."

"Good, now you can go," Audelia said.

"Okay," I said before using teleportation, which caused the film of light to envelope me.

"See you later, mother, big sister, sister," I said before I was teleported to my god's domain.

...

I am inside my God's domain, the plane of life. I ignited a world's origin which made cells be born every million years.

Each time the cells were born, the duration before they were born was reduced each time by a thousand.

The cells only need to be birthed a thousand times, and after that, it will only take a thousand years for them to be born.

Visible to the naked eye, a red puddle on the barren ground was spreading frantically.

Now that the cells were constantly being born, their numbers were increasing without decreasing or stopping.

Unlike before, when they die when they reach a certain duration of time, this time they won't die.

Because they were already immune to the harsh environment inside the safe zone.

Unless they go outside, where harsher environments exist or someone or something kills them, they'll never die.

For now, I need to create the rules of the underworld.

Otherwise, souls have nowhere to go, and at this moment, there weren't any souls on the living plane.

That was why the cells remained as puddles of red blood in the devastated, barren ground.

Without souls, the cells won't gather together to create a physical body that will be the vessel of the soul.

I adapted the scroll of rules to my hand before picking up the quill and dipping it in the ink.

I started brushing the quill with ink onto the scroll as golden words started to appear.

When the living creatures reach their end, their souls will enter reincarnation before they are given a new life.

They were given a second chance due to their unyielding will due to regrets and unfulfilled wishes on the plane of life.

Abandon the plane of life, live as a lingering spirit full of regrets and unwillingness, transform into a non-living creature in the underworld.

The underworld will give them power through their perseverance and hard work as lingering spirits and as non-living creatures.

Once they tasted power, it showed them and gave hope. To them, this was light within the darkness that led them towards the exit.

In the plane of life, once they reach that exit, they can fulfill their regrets and unfulfilled desires.

In the face of the temptation of the devil, it was now or never.

They needed to gain strength and power that was enough to break out of their cage.

The cage that was preventing them from fulfilling their regrets and desires.

However, all those hopes were false; the light that led towards the plane of life was all fake.

The bridge was one way. They wouldn't be able to cross that bridge forever.

They were all destined to not even get a single glimpse of the bridge that carried their hopes.

Till the end of their existence, as their souls disperse, all regrets and desires remain unfulfilled.

The rules were finished with it with the last brush of the quill in ink on the scroll.
