Chapter 12 - The Past(1)

As Graham finished his story, there was a moment of silence in the room. Victor and Irene listened intently, their eyes filled with empathy and understanding.

"I had no idea, Graham," Victor said solemnly, placing a hand on his uncle's shoulder. "I'm so sorry for what you went through."

Irene nodded in agreement, her eyes glistening with tears. "You've been through so much, and yet you're still fighting. You're still here, trying to protect us and this world."

Graham smiled weakly at them, touched by their words. "I may be old, but I still have fight left in me. And I'll do whatever it takes to protect you and this world from the darkness that threatens it."

There was a sudden knock at the door, interrupting their conversation. Nancy entered the room, holding a letter in her hand. "Sir, another letter has arrived. This time, it's addressed to all of us."

Graham took the letter from Nancy and began to read it aloud:

"To the inhabitants of this world,

I am the one who has been orchestrating the chaos that has befallen your world. You may call me the Shadow King.

You may wonder why I have done this. It is simple - I seek power, and I will stop at nothing to obtain it. And the power that I seek lies within the unique individuals that walk this world, those who have been blessed with special abilities by the gods themselves.

I know that there are those among you who possess such powers. And I have a proposition for you - join me, and together we will rule this world with the power that we possess. Refuse, and face the consequences.

Choose wisely.

The Shadow King"

As Graham finished reading the letter, there was a tense silence in the room. It was clear that this was a threat that they couldn't ignore.

"We have to do something," Irene said, her voice trembling slightly. "We can't just sit back and wait for this Shadow King to make his next move."

Victor nodded in agreement. "But what can we do? We don't even know who this Shadow King is or where he's hiding."

Graham sat in thought for a moment, his mind racing with possibilities. "We need to gather information. Find out everything we can about this Shadow King and his plans. And we need to be ready for whatever he throws our way."

Nancy cleared her throat, drawing their attention. "If I may, sir, there is one person who may be able to help us. An old friend of mine, a wise woman who lives on the outskirts of the city. She's rumored to have knowledge about the gods and their gifts."

Graham nodded thoughtfully. "Then we shall pay her a visit. But we must be careful. The Shadow King will be watching our every move."

With a determined look on their faces, the group set out to find the wise woman and gather any information they could about the Shadow King and his plans. They knew that the fate of their world hung in the balance, and that they would have to be brave and cunning to defeat this powerful foe.
