Chapter 44: Bully!!!
The next morning, the students were gathered in an assembly line.
They were arranged across classes, from classes 1 to 5, for the Primary classes and then secondary classes 6 - 8.
All elementals were mixed in each class as they arranged themselves in an orderly manner, fire nation, earth nation, air nation, water nation, beast nation, blood nation, forest nation, and metal nation.
Principal Gladys floated easily to the front of the assembly line, with other teachers standing around, looking at the new line of students.
She was in front of the student body, looking at them with a penetrating gaze,
"For the new students, you are to prepare for the rigorous and meticulous path of an
elemental. Each class is a level and by the time you reach class four, it is expected that you all rise to level 4 of your abilities."
"From Level 5 and above, you learn to compete with pros from other institutions, honing your skills at the top level. If any of you manage to hit the level 5 mark, you would be specially rewarded and you would obtain the national special citizen recognition by the emperor."
"Also you should know, there is no special timing for when you change classes, as soon as you hit level 2 you move to class 2, so if you do it at an early age, it won't matter if it's 30 minutes or 10 years, but as a strict warning, whoever doesn't change level with his colleagues on an average age timing of your peers, would be expelled, no freeloaders are allowed here."
"So go forth and show the might of this institution, General Suzie Wang's Elemental School"
The kids cheered as they were proud to attend one of the best ' average' elemental schools in the city.
After the charge by the principal and other discussions and arrangements were made, they were sent to their different classes to start
Lancelot Jr wasn't particularly interested in any of the events, his mind was so fixated on the piece of history he had just learned.
He has grown so fast since last night and his mind had so much matured, it felt uncanny, he had an unfathomable composure, it was almost like he was someone else.
He marched to class with his mind in the clouds, he didn't hear all the occasional jibes and greetings that were thrown his way, he wasn't particularly interested.
A big and tall boy from the metal nation produced an ironstone and threw it at Lancelot Jr, as the stone was about to hit Lancelot Jr, his instincts kicked in, lifting him above ground and causing him to spin rather quickly to
narrowly evade the threat of the ironstone that swept past him.
"Hey stupid, go and get my stone." A metal nation boy in a grey shirt barked as he stared at Lancelot Jr, with a domineering look.
Lancelot Jr ignored the boy and walked on as if he wasn't even involved in the first place, the people closest to him, laughed.
At this moment, a boy from the beast nation spoke up;
"Wow, Rick, you're going to be promoted to level 2 at the end of the year and already a boy of level 1 is looking down on you."
He laughed some more, unrestrained.
Rick was brimming with anger and was about to pounce on Lancelot when a teacher appeared,
"What are you trying to do?" The teacher barked.
Rick grunted and looked at Lancelot Jr before
walking away,
"Better," the teacher said before turning to leave.
Lancelot Jr also followed behind the angry looking Rick to class since they were both in the same class having the same level but different elemental nations.
Rick was 10 years old, one of the oldest in the level one class and although taking 10 years to make a breakthrough wasn't particularly bad, however, in this modern age when students were making progress in 2 to 3 years, it's just not wise to be relying on such slow process and timing.
As they both entered and settled down, they heard a voice coming from the front of the class;
"My name is Mr. Maxwell, I would be your Class teacher for this class. I want you all to introduce yourself one by one, let's start with you,"
The teacher pointed to a pretty young girl having the forest nation element,
"Good morning everybody, I am Beverly Hays, I am 6 years old, a forest nation-level one elemental, I came from..."
As she got talking she was interrupted by a side remark,
"Why don't you just tell us your entire history"
The whole class burst out laughing, even the teacher snorted a bit before turning to the person who made the side remark;
"Rick, behave yourself,"
Then he pointed to Lancelot Jr,
"You! continue from there, just like Beverly had introduced herself"
Lancelot Jr remained silent for a while before he finally got out of his head to respond.
"l am Gabriel Li, a level 1 fire elemental. I am 5 years old" He then stopped, and the entire class turned to
check him out.
The process took a 'fun filled' precedent and continued in that manner until the entire class had introduced themselves.
"Good, now you know yourselves a bit. You would be having different classes after my class, my responsibility is to ensure you all do well in your individual training sessions, from now on you will disperse to the different nation's buildings for your teaching and training, make sure to do well so you could advance at a fast pace."
He then turned to Lancelot Jr,
"See me at the end of all your classes,"
Lancelot Jr didn't respond until he noticed the whole class staring at him before he nodded and continued his silent unconcerned gaze.
"One more thing, in two weeks you would be having your first elemental test, make sure you're adequately prepared for both theoretic and practical aspects as well as the combat
competition among the same level classes."
They all gasped in shock, Rick was rather excited as he squeezed his right hand into a fist and slammed it against the left as he stared at
Lancelot Jr,
"Get ready to be crushed" he muttered to himself.
"That will be all", the teacher then left the class, the students dispersed as well, moving promptly to the various venues of their respective elemental nation training.
