Chapter 50: The Competition Begins!!!
A month passed by and it was already time for the elemental level competition.
Different Elemental schools across the three continents each held their competitions, but the grandest and most publicized of all was the one to be held at General Suzie Wang's Elemental School.
Even the Emperor was going to be in attendance.
The hall where the competition was to be held had been beautified to a point that it made other stages look like child's play.
The hall had room for quite so many people and the audience couldn't be happier.
It was a competition that the Emperor himself would attend, and a lot of top elementals also came around.
One of the reasons for this was that, once the Emperor set his sights on you as an elemental, your future becomes boundless.
However for one to get the attention of the
Emperor wasn't as easy as it may seem.
And even though some of these young elementals would have to wait for one year before they are even noticed, they still wanted to come around and try their luck in meeting with the Emperors.
Of course, General Suzie Wang had to also leave the 'Elemental major' school which was situated in the Khumalo continent to come around to witness the competition.
The 'General' invited and also provided housing for many top elementals from across the world who would come to attend her school's competition.
She was also in need of talents. A personal recruit collection of powerful elementals.
Although each nation may seem to be friendly and cordial on the surface, there was indeed an unspoken competition one may even see it as a low-key war between them.
Every nation's elemental expert would want anyone from their nation to dominate in any way, this would bring pride to each nation.
For the earth nation, it was no different. As such every nation would have an emblem and a name attached to their fighting outfits and gear to show the pride of the elemental nation and its capabilities.
The Void assassin nation was no exception, and what makes the competition even better was the betting policy.
A human betting company was approached and asked to set up a special site and betting conditions for the occasion, one could actually become rich by making the right bet, however, with no knowledge of the competitors or their capabilities it was difficult to pick a reliable fighter to bet on.
A month ago, Clara was able to recover in about five days after her incident with Mr.
Thomas.
They later met in the house he had provided for her and she took her time to explain the whole situation to him.
It was quite embarrassing for Mr. Thomas to discover he didn't allow Clara to give her reply and just came to a conclusion and left.
Over the last month, they became really close, and while Clara started to work for him, she also did her community labor.
This was the unjust punishment she was given by the judge's corrupt ruling.
She was given a driver and a car by Mr. Thomas to take her around, this made her feel extremely delighted.
She couldn't be happier and wondered how life would be without Mr. Thomas's presence.
At the orphanage home, both Shalia and Veronica were having a hard time coping with the children.
They noticed that despite the fact that they managed to kick Clara out, the funding they received was quite smaller.
To make matters worse, so many of the children managed to be adopted due to the strong public opinion that the children were suffering, as such, the children around were fewer, composed mostly of teens.
This, in turn, made funding to be greatly reduced, as the government felt the teens would soon be adults capable of taking care of themselves.
Shalia and Veronica couldn't hide their sour expressions, and to make matters even worse, many philanthropists that had been dropping huge amounts of money to run the orphanage had pulled out ever since Clara left.
It was almost like they left with her.
Shalia and Veronica had been fighting non-stop even the neighbors could tell by all the shouting that goes on in the orphanage daily.
'If not for your stupid greed, maybe things wouldn't be this bad, I need to find Clara and apologize to her, I can't continue this way'.
Shalia thought within herself as she left the orphanage home to search for Clara.
"Where do you think you're going?"
Veronica rushed to stop Shalia.
"Get out of my sight, stupid, greedy, wretched fool"
Shalia barked.
Veronica was angry when she heard Shalia say that and she decided to scream at top of her voice;
"Stupid whore, if not because you had to sleep with the judge, would we be in this position.
Shameless idiot"
The whole neighborhood was stunned to hear that, the voice was loud and clear.
There were murmurs all around the nearby houses as people are discussing it.
Some even came out to watch the incident as both Shalia and Veronica held each other's clothes, struggling desperately to fight each other and get the advantage.
Shalia pushed Veronica to the floor, slamming her back against it, Shalia and Veronica had their clothes torn, exposing their privates for all to see.
They couldn't care less as they were too angry to even consider anything else at this point.
One of the neighbors had called the police, and 30 minutes later the law enforcers were around to stop the fight and arrest both parties.
The orphanage home was also closed down, as the children were transferred to other orphanage homes.
The news of the illicit affair with the judge had spread and an investigation was done.
Eventually, both parties were found guilty.
Apart from the fact that both parties were found guilty, even the judge lost his job and another Judge was transferred down to replace him.
Things were not going well for both Shalia and Veronica., they were finally sentenced to 2 years imprisonment.
It sounded harsh but the law was strict on them and everyone else was in agreement.
Clara on the other hand couldn't have been happier, life seemed to be going well for her, for once in her lifetime.
"The competition is starting today, I need to see my adopted son," Clara said to Thomas as she stroked his arms in a teasing manner.
"Initially I thought he was your son for real, if
not because I remembered the incident at the hospital where I didn't give you a chance to explain, I would have misunderstood again."
Mr. Thomas said with an embarrassed smile.
Clara giggled happily as she laid her head on the chest of Mr. Thomas lovingly.
They both looked into the eyes of each other as the distance between them drew closer.
There was a sudden clearing of the throat at a distance, as one of Mr. Thomas's men appeared,
"Sorry to disturb you, sir, the car is ready and the driver is available, ready to leave for the school sir...
Mr. Thomas gave the man a terrible look, and cursed his entire generation in his mind but remained quiet.
Clara was red-faced with embarrassment but she gently separated from him without saying a single word.
