There were seven in total, five armed and two unarmed. One out of the five brandished a pistol in hand, while the other four held their short knifes in hand as they patrolled around the building carefully. As he expected, they were planted here in wait for him to jump forth and grab the non-existent bait.
He remained calm eternally, but was raging mad within himself. He hated when opponents strayed away from the orthodox paths of attack and begin using underhanded tactics that involved the ones he'd sworn to protect. Especially if they weren't a part of the plot: simply bystanders in the scheme.
Jack prepared himself. After a few second to fully cool his head, Jack approached the group. He didn't seem to care much that most of them were armed or that they were going to attract a crowd if he did not deal with them without causing too much of a commotion. All he did was to wear a calm smile.
