Jack froze.

Even after all the information, all the build up of tension, all the numerous tough requirements to meet and details to give - He was still denied the cheat he was anticipating right from the beginning.

Just a little cheat, maybe lower requirements or something like that… But, he was disappointed and left in tears and pain. All he could settle for was what the others settled for…

"Yes…" Jack muttered under his breath after giving the system details for the customisation of his team. He was even a bit elated they got a shared attack skill, something which could be very useful in beating up tough bosses or maybe players.

As soon as the system received the confirmation, Jack noticed that the colour of the names floating above the head of his teammates had turned light green while Felicia's had turned dark red.

He related it to some kind of ally - enemy player division to avoid the excessive cases of 'friendly fire' in chaotic battles and AoE skills. It wasn't a bad thing for him, and it's on a neutral stance on the profit/loss values he is calculating.

"Ah, the team is created already? I can see Jack's hover name text had turned green and Felicia's red, does that mean more EXP gain from taking her out?"

Rylex asked halfheartedly, as she already knew the answer and just wanted to keep her cover as a young girl new to Neo-VRMMORPG. She was still curious though, if what Jack's words matched her thoughts.

"Take your sister out, you moron. I'm standing right besides you." Felicia snapped as she turned to stare daggers at the side of Rylex's face. Although she was not a professional, she could feel the nonchalant air around Rylex and felt enraged by it.

She felt like Rylex was disregarding her like trash that doesn't need attention, and she hated it! She was just about to step up to fight when Jack's surprised hum broke the tension.

Jack who has broke out of his thoughts accessed the situation with his eyes and the words he barely heard, and came to a conclusion. He was going to speak his mind - and he'll do it, like how normal people do.

"Sigh, sadly even if we killed her off a million times we wouldn't gain enough benefits as she's too weak." Jack only spared Felicia one more glance before turning to face Rylex, "Besides, killing her would only make us a target for others would could attack us just for some extra EXP and loot."

"I see…" Rylex muttered loud enough for everyone to hear, a strange glint had taken form at the corner of her eyes as he bowed her head and sank into deep thoughts. She already knew what Jack was going to say and she was right - he didn't even surprise her in the slightest.

Seeing that Rylex had nothing more to say, Robert stepped forward to stand between her and Jack. He adjusted his glasses, letting the rays of light from the sun be refracted in scattered directions.

"The race is about to be begin, and our team is already put together. Shall we move on to the track now? Besides, We shouldn't waste too much time in this place." Robert spoke casually with his entire body giving off a scholarly air, and his eyes glowing in a faint light.

"Hmm, you're right on this. Quickly change locations, lemme observe and get accustomed to the terrain as soon as possible." Jack spoke with a smile before he turned to give Felicia a death glare, "What are you still doing here? Outta my sight, you troublemaker."

Felicia just rolled her eyes at his words before leaving with bitterness in her heart. Of course, she'll harbour this bitterness and make Jack pay ten-fold once she has the opportunity.

Watching Felicia walk away with fury evident in her eyes, Jack smiled sheepishly. He wasn't afraid of her then, and he wouldn't be afraid of her now. All will be well if he keeps his eyes open for conspiracies or traps she might set up to get him.

After staring at Felicia's shrinking back for a while, he averted his gave to @Early Morning Chaos , since Robert had operational controls of the race and he did not want it - simply because he finds his control over almost everything related to games a bit tiring.

Just being team leader alone was enough headache as it is, and if also had to manage all the others… It's better he just log off or jump into a virtual sea of fire to burn away his sorrows.

[Alert! Player @Early Morning Chaos has just confirmed the instantaneous transportation of all players to a new region! Warning, Destination Danger Level - Yellow!]

Some players stared up to see the screen that had popped up before their eyes whilst others outright ignored it and continued with their business. Soon, the bodies of all the players began to fragment and fade away without leaving their traces.

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"

In three seconds, all the players on ground were instantly teleported to their destination without being given the opportunity to resist. Soon, all the players were in a new environment in their exact pose before the transportation - some standing, others frozen in the sitting position with their eyes twitching.

Where they had appeared in wasn't a forest but an empty wasteland riddled with junk and decaying matter. The vile stench from the arena nearly choked some players, as some threw up without being able to hold it in. Their faces had turned pale and feet cold.

One could even see some oversized insects roaming about here and there with thier tough metallic looking cuticle and nearly transparent dual wings. What was needed was just some tough looking zombies here and the image of an apocalypse would be formed.

"Uh, Robert… Where's the racing track?" Jack asked, pinching his nose as he gaze upon the massive canvas ridden with trash and decay from an elevated slab of metal he found near a huge pile of junk.

Robert just gave Jack a strange glance and pointed at the large sea of junk and decaying matter, he opened his mouth to speak in a soft voice,

"That's the race track…"
