Chapter 11 - Virtual Reality Frenzy: 2 (Rushed a little)

"What the fuck"

Right after a grueling battle with a wolf I was thrown to a giant terrain, face first into the ground. I had to splint a leg getting up even though I could hardly feel any pain in the game... The wolf fight would be much more difficult with the pain setting turned on max--thankfully it was easy thanks to it being on the lower side.

I looked above and searched around my surroundings where I seemed to be further into the forest but unlike before a wolf didn't stop my path and it was pretty much the same design but bigger and with a lake, So I imagine the volcano was gonna be the last one.

Now looking around my equipment had increased with some cheap leather chest plate that had a black line going around it which now held a new iron sword compared to the other one which was cracked in the hilt the blade and the middle. A big upgrade guesses you could say.

"Oh, somebody" A squinted voice came at me full of glee, but I wasn't taking any chances as I pulled out my sword on him "Uhh... Calm down please?"

Just the way he said that made me shiver in my boots, it sounded like a girl trying to act like a cat it was disgusting coming from a guy: He had short yellow hair and a pair of big round glasses that seemed to be fake under the glasses he had long eyelashes so I guess that was why he wore them.

"Are you a dumbass?" I couldn't help but ask, I mean what sane person goes up to somebody in a physical exam? Well, it is on VR but you can still call it a physical exam since you know we're still working our bodies.

"Well, probably"

To be honest I was surprised by an answer that bland.

"If I'm being honest I was hardly able to pass the first test with the spider."

"With the spider?" I was given a wolf, he got a spider? I guess it varies on ability, but that begs the question of which of us is stronger because a giant spider seems more menacing than a giant wolf unless they have a size difference.

"Yes... didn't you fight a spider as well?"

"..."

"I guess that's a no?"

We both stood there for a good 10 minutes explaining how our first test was, thankfully I learned his giant spider was not that big compared to the 9 feet wolf being about 5 feet it would be the scariest thing if I had to fight a spider big as the wolf.

Oh boy, I would have had a tough time not pissing my pants.

"So have you gathered some intel?" He was here before me so he at least should know some basics "What are we supposed to do in here?"

"Well... They dropped us without anything" He scratched the back of his neck tilting his brown glasses "So that's why I was searching for people"

It was probably a battle royale, at first, I thought the volcano was the last section but it was probably the second arena, but at least I could use this kid. He's fully naive and probably a talented slum kid because if he wasn't I don't think he would be this dumb. No parent is that lazy...

Or is he just trying to use me? Sadly I'm one step ahead of him.

"So you wanna travel together" I tilted my head "Well I mean we can decimate the grounds together."

He started shaking his head up and down so violently that I was surprised did he use an E.coil bacteria right now or was I dreaming?

I stood up, stretching my arms and legs I look at the Skylands that covered the arena. With a sound that only comes after a good drink I was ready to decimate these losers. Taking out the sword from my strap I was still focused on how it didn't feel like the one In my dreams.

Why was I so obsessed with this fact? I was so obsessed with it that I couldn't use any weapon to its full extent It was just one of those rashes that never goes away or a headache that happens when you are burnt out.

I started to dig through the mud, to see if I can find any sand beneath or some rocks I can use as a projectile.

"What are you doing?" The kid leaned and asked.

"Gearing up"

"Gearing up how?"

"Im gonna use the rocks as a projectile and sand as a distraction" The rock part was true but the sand part I sprinkled in some lies.

"They used to do that in the slum..."

My thoughts were confirmed by a naive child slip-up, not that I was complaining I did have that phase too. But isn't he a little too old for it were 15 now... Teenagers.

Now that I think about it... How was my childhood? I didn't remember a tiny bit of my early years. which left me scratching an empty void. Normally you should at least remember when you were ten, at least that is what normally happens.

Better not think about it much.

...

After I filled my pockets with sand and rocks I was ready, the kid of course followed me allowing me to make some bait for the bigger fish. Or for any monsters.

One look can tell you how weak he is being only flesh and bones, after all, trembling while even walking I just keep wondering how he even got into the academy. A special recommendation like me? Maybe.

From the corner of my eyes, I hear a faint mumble and laughs, my opponents were coming to meet their end. And oh boy was I excited, a giant grin that looked like one a serial killer would have was marked on my face making the virtual animals around me scatter.

It wa sruskas a kox
