Kingdom of Elpis
Waltrer City
The city of Waltrer was a marvel to look at. With its high-rise buildings, cottages, and huts all in one place, it gave a very unique view of the city. You can see the mix of cultures by how the people lived. The river Eudaimonia was flowing through the city, dividing it into Eastern and Western provinces. Boat houses of different varieties could be seen floating on the river. The Western province mostly consisted of people who pursued the practice of agriculture, fishing, and other trades which consisted of doing manual labor. It was the part of the city where the raw materials were produced. It was also called the 'Production Area' of the city. The Eastern province was where the distribution of these raw materials took place. It was mostly filled with marketplaces and trade houses. It was also called the 'Trading Area' of the city. It was always full of hustle and bustle, with the traders shouting out about their products and the hawkers selling different varieties of items across the city, it was always a lively atmosphere in the Western Province. Combined with the peaceful atmosphere of the Eastern Province, Waltrer city was truly a place to live in.
The palace was built over a wide range of area. It was divided into Eastern and Western halls, which were built across both sides of the river. Both sides of the palace were connected by a bridge known as Palace Bridge. The bridge was made of wood and granite, with writings and sayings of great philosophers carved across it. Both the ends of the bridge were decorated with ornate jewels and the whole bridge was guarded by the royal guards, showing the wealth and power of the royalty. The structures of both the halls of the palace were different than the other one. The Eastern hall was built over a wide range of area consisting of walled compounds, raised pavilions, wooden columns and paneling, yellow glazed roof tiles, and landscaped gardens. Overall, it gave off a very peaceful and calm aura. The roofs were mostly yellow while the inside of the hall was colored red. The Western hall was built over an equally large area. With tall columns lining the halls, the designs were made across the columns with intricate detail. The symmetry could be seen in the architecture, with exquisite sculptures carved in the halls. Overall, the palace symbolized the harmonious unity of humanity with nature. Inside the Eastern Hall was the royal court, where the King discussed important matters with his ministers and acted upon them. Whereas the Western Hall had a public gathering area, which had a podium placed in the middle of it, on which the king stood as he listened to the problems of the people and tried to find a solution to them. The royal quarters were situated in both the Eastern and Western halls and depending upon the mood of the royalties, they either stayed in the Eastern or the Western quarters. His Majesty was currently in his Eastern quarters, sipping the green tea out of a gold-bordered porcelain cup which has beautiful designs carefully carved across it. He was currently facing the window overlooking the Eudaimonia and seemed to be lost in his thoughts. Suddenly he heard a soft knock on his door and ordered the person knocking on his door to come in. The royal messenger came in with a pensive look on his face. The King asked him the purpose of visiting his royal quarters and the messenger handed him a royal parchment. As he read across the parchment his mouth slowly turned into a frown, his deep black eyes boring into the paper. The King folded the parchment after he read through the parchment and handed it back to the messenger. Chan Juan ordered the messenger to inform all the ministers about the royal court which will be held tomorrow and requires their immediate attention. After the messenger left wishing for the long life of the king, Chan Juan opened the window and let his lustrous black hair flow out in the wind as he spoke to himself " Why are you coming on such immediate notice, Alexander? What do you plan to do?" The king sat on the window sill, pondering on the situation as the evening sun slowly started setting across the horizon.
