"Magic power is gathered from the soul. Due to this, one must understand its connection to the soul in order to use it."
When Nasha opened her palms, one could see cyan particles clumped together on top of it. All the children was looking at the clump of particles with eyes wide open, none dared to speak a word as if it'll disappear at the smallest of sound.
"Once you feel that connection, you can start shaping the particles." Nasha continued on.
The clump of particles on her hand was getting denser, it's color more pronounced and more... physical. Slowly the ball stretches out and wrap around Nasha arm. It has become a whip.
"Anyone want to try touching it." She said in a playful tone.
Instantly all the children raised their arms high in the sky, some were even jumping up in excitement. I was also raising my arm. Nasha clapped her hands and spoke loudly.
"All of you form a line. I'll make the whip long enough for all of you to touch it."
After neatly standing onto line, Nasha lengthen the whip in her hand and let us hold it. Nasha and Tok each hold one end of the whip.
'Weird.'
The texture of the whip was... certainly unique. It feels like glass but at the same time firmer like a rope. I tried knocking on it and it felt like I was knocking on iron.
'Is this due to magic power or some other factors?'
After seeing we are done testing it, Nasha retreated the whip back and reduced it's size back to an arm length.
"As you can see..." she said while performing more test on the whip. "It's like a physical object but not at the same time."
The children gasped in awe and some even took out their soul even when they can't do anything with it, looking at it expectantly.
"Back on topic." Clapping her hands, bringing all the children attention back on her.
"The connection to your magic power can be felt when you reach out to your soul. After feeling the connection, you can summon magic particles."
"However after you feel your connection, immediately go back to me. Under any circumstances do not summon magic particles alone as it's dangerous without properly understanding what you're doing. I'll say it again, never do it alone, got it?" Nasha warmed us in a stern voice.
"Yes mother!" The kids simultaneously said.
Satisfied, Nasha ended the lesson and let the other to go and play. I was held back for an extra lesson.
"Ken. Even though I still hope you don't use magic power without me supervising, I'll teach you some extra precautions about magic particles. In case you accidentally summon it, remember to do as I instructed."
"Yes mother."
After my confirmation, she once again summoned those clump of magic particles. Pointing at it, she noted.
"When you gather magic particles, you can't let it naturally disperse. Since magic particles are connected to your soul, when it naturally disperse your soul will take damage."
Hearing her explanation make my blood run cold. I have my own guesses to what'll happen when a soul is destroyed and I could now understand how foolish I was when summoning those particles.
Seeing my serious look Nasha reassured me.
"Although it sounds bad but it's not that dangerous. The most dangerous part is that you'll be knocked out for a few hours."
Once I calmed down Nasha continued with her explanation.
"To get rid out it safely, there are 2 ways." She said before creating another whip in her hand.
"One. You turn it into something physical. Once physical the connection to your soul will be separated. You can still add more magic power to it but once it left your body it'll quickly disappear."
Nasha throw the whip away to demonstrate. I could see it turning translucent at a rapid pace before disappearing, leaving no trace behind. Another clump of magic particles formed on her palm.
"Two. You retract it. Using the connection to your soul you can pull it back. This one usually takes more time and is harder than the first option so it's not recommended."
I slowly absorb the newly learned information. Soon I ask a question in confusion.
"How come option 2 is harder than the first one?"
"It's because creating a physical form from magic particles is much easier than retracting it. Even if it's only a small amount, you can still form dust, dirt or even smaller stuff by just clumping them together. You understand?" Nasha patiently explained it to me.
I nod my head. It indeed sounds a lot easier. When our lesson concluded, all the kids have already gathered back to our surprise. They were all listening attentively to my lesson.
A happy smile found it's way into Nasha lips as she look at the children with tender eye.
"You guys want more lessons?"
They all nod with an incredibly serious expression. Seeing so Nasha couldn't help but chucked, and I was the same too.
"Alright then, settles down. We'll have another lesson."
Thus the once empty learning spot was now full again. Taking out a book from the nearby bookshelf, Nasha said in a warm voice. All the children there felt an ominous premonition.
"Let's learn about history, shall we?"
Cries of protests could be heard in the room but none of us could escape. They have brought this upon themselves after all.
