Chapter 19 - I Saw You Sentence Me to Death

Whether it's in any world, the law of the jungle always applies. The strong are always above the weak. The exclamations from people who had met him in the past were like an announcement: Cyril made the warp. Instantly the heads of the people bowed.

"I thought you could do it, Mr. Cyril." Adelman drew hastily towards Cyril.

He took a step back, hoping that Adelman wouldn't do what he wanted. However, indeed what had happened was according to what he had thought. Adelman went ahead, greeted him, congratulated him, and thanked him many times. Whereas Cyril did nothing, except take the option not to be executed for reasons of disobeying orders.

"Alright… we will start moving the knights now." Adelman ordered a squad of his knights to enter the warp first, to secure it. After the Crown Prince and everyone else had moved to the Freifau territory, the knight Adelman would return across the warp to return to the Varden Fortress. "You don't mind getting into the last warp?"

"I would even rather stay!" Cyril muttered without meaning to answer Adelman's question.

"His Majesty said that you disobeyed the previous orders. I didn't know you would be this bad!" Adelman complained.

Cyril was surprised and turned his head quickly.

"However you hate His Highness the Crown Prince, you are his knight. Even if the decision taken is wrong, you must not argue and must keep going!"

Isn't that tantamount to suicide?

Cyril let out a resigned breath. If only he had the certainty of what was happening to him now, it would be easier to make a decision. He is now even starting to be unsure if he has entered into a novel he has ever read on a cell phone. There are so many gaps between the known story and what it is today.

"Looks like your turn is almost here!"

Cyril turned his gaze to the people carrying horses walking past the oval circle that had been created. A warp that Cyril didn't even understand how it was made.

"There must be a reason why you hate the Crown Prince, right, Knight Cyril? If you have a reason to hate him, you have to find a reason to like him from now on."

Cyril could be sure that nothing like that would happen. How could he like the person who would be the reason for his death. Seriously! He screamed in frustration inside and stepped into the warp he made.

The scent that made Cyril feel very peaceful was the first thing he received when he established his feet in the Freifau region where Adriana was born. Then the field of flowers spread out so beautiful for a moment. However, Cyril could not enjoy it all.

"We will continue our journey soon! We're about to enter Freifau territory, stay alert!" exclaimed Algis who had climbed onto his horse. "Knight Cyril, you can close the warp connected to the Varden Fortress now!"

Surprised by the order, Cyril looked around to confirm that the soldiers of the Varden Fortress were completely gone. He closed his eyes again, imagining the heat all over his body, then centered on his hands. Then he felt that the heat dispersed and disappeared because of the wind. When Cyril opened his eyes again, he didn't see the warp that had been made, only the footprints of many people at the same point, where the warp had existed.

"Please, sir!"

Someone thrust a horse at Cyril. The gaze of the man who was both wearing knight attire seemed to be downcast.

The law of the jungle is great!

Cyril accepted the outstretched reins, saw the man fall into the same mob as him and whispered, and then quickly mounted his horse.

One time the Seventh Knight Captain's command sounded and the small squad stepped back. Cyril was lost in his thoughts again. About the looming danger in the castle where Adriana came from. Can a small team like this be able to deal with it or even become the target of the enemy?

All his thoughts were cut off when he heard a snort to his left. Borneo looked displeased for reasons Cyril couldn't explain. That was before he realized that Algis was riding on his right.

"I haven't properly thanked you, Cyril."

Cyril warned himself to be polite. He remembered Adelman's words. Felt that another favorite knight gave him a warning for his sake.

"I'm just doing what I can, Your Majesty." In his heart, Cyril added that he was forced to for fear of being executed because of disobeying orders from superiors.

"Your annoyance at me when you leave the capital is well-founded. We can't push ourselves without resting for five days."

Cyril looked around for the right direction east and west, but there was no sign of being able to tell the difference. Then he remembered that it was now in the south. The sun had tilted, and unfortunately to the west instead of the east as had been feared.

"What's the matter, Knight Cyril?"

Borneo who seemed to know what Cyril was looking for asked. "What is it, Knight Cyril?"

"There isn't any!" Cyril replied depressed. He looked straight ahead again, seeing how people were eavesdropping on their conversation.

"I wonder why you don't want to help me," said Algis again.

The crown prince who was by his side pulled on the reins, forcing his horse to slow down a bit so as not to go too fast and still side by side beside Cyril.

"You can tell me the truth!" told Algis.

Cyril remembered when he was a child before being stranded here when he stole money just to play the station. With tears in his eyes, his mother said the same thing: You can tell the truth. Cyril did what was asked and regretted doing it. Not because of the punishment he got, but because he knew what the money was being kept for.

"So, why are you trying to oppose me?" asked Algis. Still sounds urgent and impatient.

Cyril turned to Borneo first, asking for help to escape the problems that came. However, Borneo was not looking at him. Rather averting his eyes to pretend he didn't know anything.

Can I believe that everything will be fine if I say it?

"Knight Cyril, I hope you tell me the truth. I don't want to hate something I don't know. I'll regret it if I'm arbitrary to you!"

Cyril took a deep breath. There's nothing wrong with telling his what happened to his. It just needs to change the story a little bit.

"I told you before, didn't I die before?"

Cyril only heard the sound of the horse's hooves meeting the gravel and earth beneath them. He knew that Algis was listening.

"That's when I saw the death of my other self."

"You mean?"

Cyril turned to Algis with an expression of unfavorable fear. "I saw you sentence me to death!"
