Chereads / WHAT IF I BECOME THE ENEMY / Chapter 15 - Warp

Chapter 15 - Warp

The man who greeted Cyril was smaller than most knights. His face was bright. He walked briskly through the people undisturbed, not caring about the displeased stares of those he passed.

Who is that person? He wondered to himself, trying to force his brain to work even harder to remember someone running towards him. Not successful. There was no sign that Cyril's brain would ever get the magic of memory.

However, wasn't it in moments of urgency that the memory of the captain appeared at that time. Surely the real Cyril or at least Cyril's body would take care of him now.

It will be okay, everything must be fine!

"Good grief! I didn't expect to meet you in a knight outfit like this!" The running man patted Cyril on the shoulder hard. "Like you said back then! You will be in the palace knight army!"

"Eh, did I ever say something like that?"

Mana Cyril remembers that. First because in the novel there is no mention of Cyril's ambition to enter the knight army. Cyril's ambition in the novel is to become a rich man. So when he suddenly entered the knight squad in the novel, he was shocked.

"You said you were drunk, maybe that's why you don't remember!"

"Why am I drunk?"

The man frowned, looking displeased with Cyril's questions. However, he didn't care how this person he didn't remember would respond. Get important buying information.

"You are becoming more talkative now. Are you drunk?"

"What if I get drunk when I'm fussy?"

Even though Cyril's previously unanswered question, now he even asked another question.

"I feel that you are just like other people. Did something happen in the palace knight army. This time the man put his arm around Cyril's shoulder and whispered. "I heard that the knights of the palace don't like knights from commoners. Did they beat you to change your personality?"

As long as he had been Cyril for a few days, nothing seemed to have hit him well. He was simply exiled, and considered non-existent. Besides that, he almost got everything that knights with other noble castes got.

"Not like that!" Even though Cyril hated the captain of the seventh knight, he would not lie about the treatment he received.

"If they abuse you, tell me! I will have Master Adelman request your transfer here!"

Cyril gasped in surprise, staring at the man who didn't even know his name in disbelief. "Is that true?"

"Of course! I know your sword talent as well as your magic talent. I heard that you can warp the chief mercenary who came at that time!"

Cyril tilted his head. That's not possible. In the novel he was reading, he had never found a single sentence describing his warp magic ability. However, so far things have been different.

"That must be just gibberish!" said Cyril lowering his voice.

He got another hit in the shoulder, hard and painful. "Don't be so humble! I saw it with my own eyes!" he exclaimed happily.

Cyril's eyes widened. With what he could silence the mouth of the man whose name is not known. If anyone heard and then relayed it to the Crown Prince, Cyril would be in trouble.

"Shut up!" stammered Cyril.

The man looked down, staring at Cyril in disbelief. "Is this a secret? You used to love showing it off. So I don't think so?" He tilted his head.

"Ah never mind!" Cyril said surrendering.

He didn't have to try to hide anything now. All you need to think about is finding a way to save yourself from death in another year. Being one of Adelman's knights doesn't seem like a bad thing.

"Are you sure you can transfer me to Vander Fortress' knight squad?" asked Cyril.

"Of course!" said the man cheerfully.

"Hey, Clark! Hurry up! What have you been doing there since?"

Cyril looked at the man named Clark, and tilted his head, hoping he would get out of there soon to meet his friend's call. Cyril could heave a sigh of relief.

However, soon the man named Clark came back. "You'll be passing by here on your way back from the South aren't you?"

"Yes," replied Cyril weakly.

"Let's drink later! I want to hear your story again!"

Cyril watched the man leave and apologized to his friends many times before waving one last time at Cyril.

He exhaled, looked around, and thanked everyone who didn't notice him at all. This is more than enough. He did not want more attention which caused the flow to return to normal.

Footsteps stopped nearby. "Mr. Cyril," said the man.

His voice was low, full of authority, and respect. Not the people from the seventh knight group he came from. Cyril turned his body, staring at the man who was only a silhouette then his face became clearer.

"Yes sir?" asked Cyril.

"Could you come with me for a moment to see the crown prince?" asked the man who was none other than Algis' maid.

Someone must have reported it! Cyril said to himself. He wanted to hide, but that's not necessarily what caused him to be summoned. Hopefully, this is another affair! He remembered the punishment Algis promised before leaving. Certainly! He shouted with joy in his heart.

The servant Algis had walked a few steps, waiting for Cyril on a new path.

He shifted his weight on his feet and then stood up, following the servant who led him into the fort. There were many passages after the entrance. If he entered alone, it would be difficult to find a destination.

"Come here, sir!" The waiter invited Cyril still with a formal sentence, humble, exalted.

Cyril didn't like that. Even in his previous life, he was always belittled. So his mind immediately gave a warning of danger, that there must be a trap behind the maid's sweet demeanor.

"You don't have to be so formal with me!" Cyril did not know the maid's name, to refer to him as "Master".

"No, I have to act like that. You are a knight!" said the waiter. "My name is Borneo, sir!" he said introducing himself.

The servant seemed to read what was in Cyril's mind. "You are on His Majesty's side. The captain must have told you who I am, right?"

Even if he wasn't asked the captain of the seventh knight would surely tell him how disgusting he was in the eyes of the nobles.

"You are very wise, sir, in contrast to your attitude. If only you were born into a noble family, you would be a respected successor!"

Cyril coughed, almost laughing. Where could that be. He was just Cyril the commoner's knight. He is the crown prince's enemy. The man who will be hanged one year from now after kidnapping the wife of the crown prince on their wedding day.

"We're here!" The servant named Borneo said.

The sentence brought Cyril out of his daydream. He stood at the door and had no recollection of which aisle he had taken. Borneo opened the door.

Cyril frowned slightly as the door opened to see who was in the room. The one sitting was Algis, on his right was Adelman, then on the left who looked displeased with Cyril's arrival was the captain of the seventh knight.

"Your Majesty, please think again! This brat must have been just bragging back then!" It seemed that the captain of the seventh knight was trying to get rid of Cyril even though he had been invited.

"If he lies, won't he be found out here!"

Captain Cyril's face was slightly pale. When he met her eyes, the man looked away immediately.

Cyril thought he should keep his manners for now. Adelman was here and the dedicated man would slash him if he looked down on Algis. Although Cyril didn't know what other than the heir to the throne what else could make him submit to Algis.

"What did Your Majesty call me?" asked Cyril, bowing respectfully.

Algis laughed. Though nothing of Cyril's sentence is funny. "Aren't you being too polite now?" quipped the man. "Well, I heard something interesting. Do you want to guess?"
