Chapter 2 - Chapter two

Authors POVs

Victoria sat up on her bed when she heard a loud bang. Something strong and sedating encompasses her nostrils.

Blood.

The smell of blood made her sprang up like a mad woman making her earpod fall to the ground along with her phone. She squatted down to pick it up, lucky enough there was no scratch. If there was, she would have to deal with going back to her mother to ask her for help, and that's something that would Burst her ego.

She made to stand up and the smell invaded her nose once again. She was thirsty for it. The thought of finding the owner and draining it flashed across her mind and she sniffed to find out where it was coming from.

She paused from sniffing and recollected herself. "What the fuck am I thinking of drinking blood? Yuck!" She mutters and shakes her head as if it would help shake the desire and thoughts out of her head.

"Maybe I'm just thirsty."

With that, she slipped on her flip flops and made her way out of her room with the intention of grabbing a glass of water from the kitchen.

As soon as she stepped out of her room, she noticed the door leading to her parents room was opened. Filled with nothing but curiosity, she went in to look around.

Everything looked well arranged and in place, except their closet. Not willing to help arrange anything, she stepped out and shut the door behind her. Victoria made her way downstairs sleepily. As soon as she got down the stairs, she made her way towards the kitchen and straight to the fridge to pour herself a glass of water. She downed it in one gulp.

She poured another and the same thing happened. She couldn't get enough. Her thirst increased the more she kept drinking till she finished the jar of water and she still felt unsatisfied.

She went back to the fridge a bit to grab a juice.

'Maybe it would help' she had thought.

She stopped looking when she felt a presence lurking behind her. She turned sharply and without haste and she came face to face with a soldier.

She stood in front of the stranger, a bit startled at the intruder.

'How did he get in?' she asked herself

The guy in front of her was for sure not a member of her family. Neitherere his friends nor her mother's friends at the gym.

Victoria took two steps back to examine this stranger. He was young... A young man.A hot-looking nerdy man. He was wearing a black T-shirt, a black jacket, and denim jeans. He had a low cut on. Victoria's eyes slowly wander off to his eyes. His brows were knitted as he stared at Victoria like some weirdo.

Victoria recollects herself suddenly feeling embarrassed for gawking at a stranger.

Her eyes snapped to his bleeding hand.

"So that's where the blood smell was coming from," she muttered to herself

The urge to suck it invaded Victoria's mind yet again.

The intruder raised his hand and Victoria's eyes followed them up in a daze.

I was a small cut on his knuckles

"I bet you're wondering how I got this. It's from knocking on your door." He says bluntly and Victoria frowned.

'Could he be an Arm robber?' Victoria wondered. She steps back slowly her hands touched something so she turned to see what it was.

It was a knife lying on the kitchen counter.

She picked it up and pointed it at him.

"You know it's a crime to break into someone else house? Why the fuck are you in my house?!" She asked. With the look on her face, you could tell she is ready to spill blood if he tries anything or seem threatening.

"Trust me, I don't want to be here. Your mother asked my mom to come to babysit you."

"Babysit me?"

"Yes. Babysit you," he responded nonchalantly

"I don't need a busy sitter. What am I? Twelve?"

He doesn't respond. Instead, he tuck the hand that wasn't injured in his pocket.

"So my mother had something to take care of at the supermarket. She asked me to come to be with you till she returns. Let's do ourselves a favor by staying away from each other."

"Who are you again?" Victoria asked still not convinced and she still had the knife pointed at him.

"Who I am is not important. But I'm pretty sure you know mary." she momentarily paused. "Mary is my mother."

He turns to walk away but he turned back to me. "And yes," he says looking at the dimly lit kitchen. "Where can I find a first aid kit?"

Victoria points outside the kitchen and to the drawer under the tv.

"Mary…" she tries to recall. She looks up back to his retreating figure. "I know Mary. But you look nothing like her. I know we has twins, both girls. So I who the fuck are you?!" Victoria thunders

The intruder who had halt on his step… Continued his walk forward out of the kitchen and to the drawer (cabinet).

"Hey" Victoria called as she followed him on his tail. "I'm talking to you!"

He let's out a loud sigh with his gaze on the ceiling before turning to face her. "What?!"

"I would like to know who you are and why my mother asked your mother to babysit me."

"I don't know. The little I know is that she traveled for an important meeting and she wouldn't be returning till the weekend."

"What?" Victoria found her self stuttering. "Why didn't she tell me any of that. We live in the same house!"

"Maybe- just maybe," he says as he slowly turns to face her. " if you weren't bitching around in school and at home. She would have talked to you."

"How dare you say that to me and in my house?!"

"Get used to it," he says and walked out into the living room.

"I'm calling my mother."

Victoria ran upstairs her thirst for water and the blood were long gone. She pushed her room door open once she got to the passage leading to her room. She picked up her phone she had left on the bed and dailed her mom's number.

'The number you are trying to reach is not available at the moment, but you can leave a message at the beap.'

Victoria tapped on the phone after the beep to send a message. "I hope they teach you how to parent a child in the meeting that was too important for you to tell me before you left the house. Who leaves their daughter with a stranger these days? Right, a careless parent! How can you possibly leave your daughter alone with a stranger?" she screamed into the phone before sending and hanging up.

She dropped her phone on her reading table, and stare at her reflection in the mirror on her table.

Her gracefully black hair rolled up in a bun, and those twinkling brown eyes lacked a good sense of humor.

She hits her first on her reading table as she groans loudly. She paced around the room thinking of the best way to handle the situation at present.

"I'll just stay in this room till mom gets back." with that said, she pulls on her drawer and picked out her sketchbook and a pencil.

The drawing usually helps in relieving her anger in some ways, but right now she wasn't even sure of what she was drawing.

"Argg!" she screamed into her sketchbook ripping the page off and tossing it on the ground.

She got up from her bed and placed the sketchbook where she had picked it from. She walked over to the window, and pull the drapes open before opening the slide, and then stepped out.

"A quick run downtown might help me feel better," she said as she sat down on the window with her legs dangling.
