Chereads / Falcon (The Legendary Land) / Chapter 2 - Rise of the Falcon

Chapter 2 - Rise of the Falcon

The legendary world is just getting darker. If it continues to be allowed, over time the world will be destroyed. Meanwhile, its inhabitants are forced to enter, monopolizing the other world, namely the world where humans live. If that happens, the balance will be destroyed, humans will only be in name.

The old man told the story with a sad smile. While the children in front of him listened confused.

"You mean there are other realms besides this world?" asked one of the children.

The hunchback nodded, "Yes, mythological creatures, demons, witches and various other kinds exist. They live in other realms. But from time to time, they choose to enter the human world, mingling with us. They can change themselves like humans. Maybe one of them is among us."

The children immediately shuddered in horror, glancing at each other. Looking for which of them is not human. The story of the existence of other creatures is not new, they are only told by parents as bedtime stories. But still, innocent children are attracted to believe.

"Then how do you keep those creatures from plundering this world?"

The old man smiled, his blue beads flashing, "Wake up the god."

All the children gasped and wondered. But before they had time to ask again, a loud noise caught the attention of several people passing by.

A girl struggled, her hands tied. She was forcibly taken away by a group of men dressed as soldiers. The girl continued to struggle but did not ask for help at all because she knew that no one would help her.

"He is Haye's noble servant, they must have sold her." Whispered some of the residents, who looked pitiful but couldn't do anything about it. pupil was as dark as night. The girl looked around, then her gaze fell on the black-robed old man who was sitting not far from the crowd.

They looked at each other until the girl walked away.

As the noise disappeared, the market slowly returned to normal. The residents are doing their activities again. Immediately, the old man finished the story and walked away.

The black hooded hunchback walked away from the crowd. He walked with his cane down the deserted street. Until gradually, with each step, the shape of the grandfather's body slowly changed to become straighter and more upright.

His wrinkled face was replaced with a smooth and beautiful face. Now he had turned into a young man. Yes, he is a magician. One of the legendary land creatures in the human world.

"It's time." The man grinned a meaningful smile.

The girl was put in a wooden cage that was on the wagon. They prepare to take her to a brothel.

Suwa smiled sadly. I didn't think the employer would be like this. Then, master's son, who she thought loved her, just kept quiet. Not moving one bit to help. And the old pain still lingers. Suwa lived life with extraordinary determination. She harbors bitterness from the past, when her entire family was brutally massacred. Only she is safe. Suwa is finally accommodated by Haye's nobles to be their servant. But it turned out not to be without purpose. Lord Haye had planned to tie up Suwa, then when the time came they sold her.

In the midst of her daydream, Suwa gasped when suddenly the rope that bound her hands fell off. Then, as if by a miracle, the bars that locked her open just like that. Suwa was stunned for a moment. Her eyes then turned around. Seeing an opportunity to escape, without thinking, she jumped down and immediately fled into the forest.

Suwa kept running. Her breath was panting, her sweat dripping even though she was tired. she had to keep running away. Those people must be after her.

Why is her life always bad? It felt like the world was never on her side? Suwa wanted to cry. So sad for the life she lived.

This world seemed to hate her so much that misfortunes came in succession. Wasn't there enough of the bad treatment she had in the past?

"Not fair, not fair." she mumbled. A second later her tears escaped. The tears that she had been holding back finally spilled over as her legs fell, which were limp likes jelly. The girl bowed languidly, she then looked up, staring at the blue sky decorated with flying birds that danced effortlessly.

Why is it like this? Why is she always unlucky? Why is life always toying with it? When will she be happy?

Suwa sat down and cursed her fate. That's how brave those people are. If only she had a little strength to retaliate. But what can you do? She is just a weak girl who has no power. It's better to just die. After all, her life only includes emptiness. But on the other hand, she is also afraid of death. No, not ready to die yet. she must endure to feel true happiness before life take her.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she heard a group of people chasing her closer and closer. she got up, immediately ran with a trembling body. Don't let her get caught. she continued to run following the gust of wind that for some reason seemed to be carrying her. And she came to the side of the river full of rocks. Suwa gasped. Panic. she was cornered and unable to find a way out again.

The witch saw everything from the eyes of the birds flying into the sky. Then a smirk appeared on his lips, at lightning speed, witch was already in the river not far from the girl. The mage muttered a spell. A second later, it turned into a white butterfly and flew towards Suwa.

"Oh my god, help me!" Suwa paled, praying that they wouldn't find her. Then she saw a white butterfly flying around her. The butterfly seemed to invite Suwa to follow it.

Half daydreaming, Suwa followed the flying direction of the butterfly. He led Suwa into the cave where the creature was sleeping.

Suwa was shocked at the existence of a cave hidden behind a bush. she then went deeper and deeper into the cave's stomach, unknowingly breaking through the invisible wall. And how amazed and surprised she was at what was there. The vast expanse of ice is like the polar regions. In the middle is a giant iceberg.

Suwa frowned in surprise. Winter hasn't come yet, there can't be ice-covered ground in the cave. she got goosebumps. Suwa decided to get out of here, but his fear of the place disappeared when she heard a voice echoing,

"Come out you naughty girl, you won't get away. If caught, we'll rotate you." The people's laughter boomed. Suwa's body stiffened, the voice sounded clear. They must have also entered the cave. Suwa panicked and then decided to hide behind the big chunk of ice.

she leaned her body against a lump of ice while controlling her beating heart, "Oh my god help me, please help me!" A second later, suddenly the chunk of ice cracked. Suwa reflex back. Suwa's eyes widened as she realized that there was something inside the chunk of ice.

A man with his eyes closed froze there. And his heart almost burst out when the figure suddenly opened its eyes. And a second later, the chunk of ice shook and exploded.

"Thanks for calling me."

Suwa was so shocked. A man came out of a lump of ice. The man's whole being was white, his clothes were like silver soldiers, his hair was the same, and the most amazing thing was the man's silver irises that sparkled beautifully. His skin was pale, and he was as beautiful as the descriptions of gods she had heard so often. But even so, Suwa was still afraid. The man was clearly not human. He swallowed hard, what dangers threaten him now?

Expressionless, the man looked at Suwa who was choking with trembling body. His silver beads traced her carefully. Then the corner of his eye caught the image of five men who also managed to penetrate the invisible wall.

The five men who had been chasing Suwa earlier were also flabbergasted at all this. A few seconds later, their attention turned to the girl as well as the strange man standing in front of her.

"Ahh, here it seems." They were about to approach Suwa, but before their intention was carried out, the strange man walked over first. Wordlessly, slashing the necks of those people with his hand, which suddenly spewed a sharp tip of ice into a blade. The bodies of the five people immediately lay with their heads rolling, separated from their place.

Suwa's eyes widened, her body trembled even more. she was really scared. Don't let their fate be like them. she struggled to his feet, the only thing on his mind was to run. But unfortunately, the creature caught him first.

"Where are you going?" The man quickly let out a jet of ice from his palm in the form of a rope and wrapped it around Suwa's left leg, causing her to stumble. The figure then pulled the rope until Suwa was dragged closer to him.

Suwa was scared to death. She immediately knelt down begging for mercy, "Please don't kill me, forgive me sir, forgive me!"

The man squinted an eyebrow, "Why would I kill the person who called me." He released the rope around Suwa's feet. Suwa suddenly looked up, not understanding the man's sentence. Then another voice was heard,

"Congratulations on your awakening, Ludra the Falcon."

I don't know since when a black hooded man stood between them. Seen, he developed a smile, then slightly bowed to the man he called the Falcon.

"Momoru the magician." Ludra muttered, who seemed to already know who he was.

The mage nodded in agreement, then his attention turned to the girl who looked at them confused and scared.

"You can't go, miss, because you summoned the Falcon yourself. And whoever summons him will be his servant for life."

Suwa gasped, reflexively shaking her head in denial, "NO."

This time the man called Falcon raised his voice, "No matter what happens, you must be my servant. That's the price you have to pay for calling me."
