Chapter 68: Hostage situation

"Can you find them?" Harry asked Luna.

"Shouldn't we try to help everyone here?" Luna was obviously shaken by seeing all that chaos.

"We came here to help Susan and Hannah, let the authorities handle the rest." Harry looked around and saw in the distance a couple of death eaters laughing and chasing a young couple. But they were not firing anything lethal.

"Besides, it doesn't seem those guys came here to kill people, just to get attention."

What Harry didn't mention, was that the Dementors were not going to care about whatever orders they have been given. They will try to feed themselves.

Luna's eyes gained a clear shine and started to look around.

It only took her around thirty seconds.

"That way!" She pointed in a direction.

"Let's go then".

After running for a bit, Harry noticed that one death eater was running toward them with his wand out.

Without stopping, Harry waved his hand and the death eater went flying at high speed and collided with the wall of a nearby shop.

—---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Are you sure He will come?" The tall man asked.

"Do I look like a Seer to you, Nott?." The fat man said.

"Idiot!, don't say my name out loud! What are we wearing the masks for?... Goyle." The thin man, who was now identified as Nott said.

"Oh, bugger off." Goyle senior looked at Susan and Hannah, who were tied up and seem unable to talk. "Besides…those two will never have the chance to tell anyone. Right?" Goyle laughed.

Susan had an angry expression on her face, but Hannah on the other hand was weeping.

The four of them were near the end of the main Hogsmeade street. It was the furthest part away from Hogwarts. They decided that it was the safest place to make an escape from when the Aurors or Dumbledore came into Hogsmeade.

It also made it impossible for anyone to approach them without giving them time to prepare.

Susan and Hannah were sitting on the ground while Nott and Goyle stood over them with their wands out.

"Hey Goyle. Do you think the Lord would care if we bring those two with us into the manor?"

Goyle looked at his partner, already knowing what He was thinking.

"I don't think He would mind. However, I also want one of them" Goyle gave Hannah a pervy look.

Nott laughed. "That's fine. It would be such a waste to just kill them. Especially when we c-, LOOK!"

Goyle was startled and immediately looked in the direction that Nott was pointing.

They could see a black-haired boy and a blond girl running directly toward them.

Once they were a bit closer, Nott was the first to confirm the identity of the boy.

"That's Potter for sure, I don't know who the girl is. Be ready. " Nott told his partner and then He pointed his wand at Susan, who was next to him.

Goyle did the same with Hannah.

Once Harry was close enough, Goyle spoke.

"STOP RIGHT THERE!, or your pretty friends over here, will DIE!."

Harry and Luna stoped.

"Stay close," Harry told Luna.

"Alright Potter, do what we say and your friends will get out of this alive. First, You and the blonde next to you. Take out your wands and throw them this way. Don't try anything funny or they will be the ones who pay." Nott jabbed his wand against Susan's cheek and she made a grunt.

"Do what they say, trust me" said Harry softly.

Susan and Hannah were looking and them and moved their mouth, they were trying to say something to Harry and Luna but no sound came out of their mouths.

Luna threw her wand a few feet away.

Harry held his wand for a moment while whispering something, then threw it far enough to almost reach Nott's feet.

Nott looked at Harry's wand right in front of him and smiled.

"You are going to pay for humiliating my son, Potter."

"NO!, I'm going first. That bastard killed my son." Goyles face behind the mask was getting red with rage.

Nott lifted one hand in a placating manner.

"Of course my friend, you go first."

Goyle stopped pointing his wand at Hannah and started to walk toward Harry.

"My partner over there only needs a second to kill those girls, so do not make a move, Potter"

Nott remained in place pointing his wand at Susan.

Luna was getting nervous but when she looked at Harry, she realized how calm He was.

'He must have a plan' She thought.

He always seems to have a plan, so she will put her trust in Him.

Once Goyle has taken a few more steps away from Susan and Hannah, Something started to happened.

The tip of Harry's wand, which was on the floor right in front of Nott started to shine in a dark red light.

Nott didn't notice this, but Susan, who was also on the floor did notice.

What Harry did before throwing the wand was called, 'delayed casting'. A skilled wizard can place a spell in a wand without being fired. The spell will remain contained for a certain amount of time and the fire by itself, even if the wizard is nowhere close to the wand.

A small ball of light that now looked like very dark blood, shoot out of the tip of the wand and hit Nott's right foot.

Nott seems to feel that something had hit his feet and was going to look down, but then He notice that he could not move his head.

He tried to look at Susan, to see if she has done something, but his eyes could not move. He was only able to look forward, and could not move a single muscle. Then He started to feel a great amount of pain, but could not scream.

Goyle didn't notice any of this either and kept approaching Harry until He was only a few feet away.

"I'm going to enjoy this, Potter."

Goyle smiled and pointed his wand at Harry.

"CRUCI-"

While Goyle was focusing to cast his spell, Harry made a swift cutting motion with his left hand.

A silver arc of light came forth and collided with Goyle's right side. The man's entire arm was cut at the shoulder. It took the him around five seconds to even process what just happened.

When He did, he looked at where his right arm used to be and gave a blood-curdling scream.

He quickly used his left hand to cover his wound and stop the bleeding. Then turned towards Nott.

"Nott!, don't just stand there like an idiot and help me!. Shoot him! NOW!"

But Nott did not move.

"I'm afraid that He cannot help you," Harr said in a calm voice that made Goyle's blood run cold.

"W-wait." Goyle turned to look at Harry, who was now slowly walking towards Him, and felt absolute terror. He started to back away from Harry.

"W-wait, please. We c-can let this go. Just, just let me-"

"No"

Those were the last words that He heard before Harry extended his hand towards him and Goyles body suddenly exploded, turning into a bloody mist.

The Disintegration curse was rarely used because it required the caster to completely overpower his opponent's magic in order to work.

However for Harry to overpower the incompetent Goyle Senior was just too easy.

He also felt nothing about killing one of his former followers. Those men were once loyal to him, but now, they just want to be his enemies.

'So be it. If they want to die so badly, let them come.' He thought.

Luna picked up her wand and run toward Susan and Hannah.

"Finite Incantatem" She use the charm to remove the ropes and the silencing spell that was put on them.

"Luna, Harry!" Susan yelled.

Hannah grabbed Luna in a hug. "I was so scared!"

Susan turned to look at Nott with obvious fear in her eyes.

"Can he really not move?"

"No, He can't." Harry's voice came from her side.

Susan turned to look at Harry.

"Harry, you saved us again, thank you so much" Susan gave him a hug, and then looked towards the red stain that Goyle left.

"What did you do to him?"

"Desitengration curse," Harry said calmly.

"You killed him…" Susan wasn't sure how to feel about that.

"Oh bugger him!" The voice came unexpectedly from Hannah.

They all turned to look at her in awe.

"Susan, you heard what they wanted to do with us!. I'm glad they are dead." Hannah exclaimed with misty eyes.

Susan thought for a moment and nodded solemnly.

"Actually, this one is not dead." Luna pointed at Nott. "I can still see his magic working, but is weak."

"Petrification is not necessarily lethal," Hary said, and that seems to ease Susan's conscience a little bit.

What He did not say is that the variant He used, although not immediately lethal, the victim will suffer a very painful death in less than an hour if the person is not given the petrification cure. That potion has to be brewed at the moment of need and cannot be stored, so the chances of Nott surviving are zero.

"Can we leave now? I want to get away from this place already." Hanna said.

"I'm afraid, not yet" Harry looked at the huge group of dementors approaching.
