At the NYPD company,
Sasha was walking through the hallway wondering where Carl must've been. It's been three days since Carl hasn't shown up at work and it's been bothering her because she misses him. She has called his number non-stop for days now and also checked his office to see if he was there but he wasn't.
Noah and Dexter were also walking through the hallway and they saw Sasha peeping through Carl's office window.
"Commander Sasha!!" Noah startled Sasha on purpose.
Sasha immediately flashed Noah a glare as she was finding her balance due to the shock of hearing her name like that. She felt a little embarrassed to be caught, peeping through Carl's office window but she pretended like she was cool.
"What is it?" Sasha said to Noah in a husky tone.
"Why are you peeping through prosecutor Carl's office window?" Noah asked Sasha.
"That's none of your business?" she rudely replied.
"Oh, that's my business because prosecutor Carl left me in charge, so I have every right to know why you're peeping through his window" Noah fired back.
Sasha scoffed in disbelief.
"Prosecutor Carl will never put you or anyone in charge instead of me"
"Then why didn't he tell you where he went?" Noah said.
"Do you know where he is?" Sasha asked surprisingly.
"of course, I do because I'm in charge." He smirked.
"….."
"sheesh…" Noah cuts Sasha before she could utter a word.
"I'm not telling you so don't bother asking me where he is," He said and Sasha angrily left.
"that lady is so scary," Dexter muttered to Noah.
"Not to me though… she acts like she owns this company that's why none of us like her" Noah replied.

Meanwhile at Oak hill Alabama,
Carl was already prepared to leave Alabama for New York. He is currently with Clara outside the cabin who doesn't want to let go of him.
"Carl, please don't leave, I'm going to miss you," Clara said to Carl while hugging him with a sad expression on her face.
Carl bent down to her height and cupped her face.
"I'll miss you too sweetie. But don't worry, I promise to keep sending you chocolates okay" he said to cheer her up.
"No, that's not enough. I don't want you to leave…" Clara pouted and Carl chuckled at her cuteness.
Just then, Anne came outside from the cabin.
"you're prepared to leave already?" she asked Carl
"Yep! I'm sure my grandma and Richie are terribly missing me" Carl said, standing up erectly.
Anne was wearing a bright red bodycon short dress. She looked so sexy in it. The color red really suits her. Her hair was let down cascading her back to her bum. She looked so hot as matter of fact, hotter than the sun itself.
"you… you look so stunning" Carl stuttered after seeing Anne.
His eyes were fixed on her with his jaw dropped. It's like her beauty elevates each day, Carl thought.
"thank you" Anne smiled and walked closer to Carl.
"Carl, I wanna apologize to you," Anne said to Carl who was extremely surprised to hear what she had just said.
"....." Carl looked at her with a puzzled look on his face.
"I acted so childish and treated you unfairly since you came here despite how nice you've been to my family and I'm really sorry for that" Anne sincerely apologized.
Her face shows that she actually meant it but it was still unreal to Carl. He was surprised and shocked.
"Victoria must've forced you to say these words to me I guess…" Carl said.
"This has nothing to do with me," Victoria said, walking to the scene.
She never forced Anne to apologize to Carl. She only advised her to forgive and let go of the past and by doing so, Anne felt she needed to start all over with Carl. After all, she knows deep down that Carl is a good man.
"Anastasia, you don't have to apologize to me. I chose to cover up the truth and let you get hurt… you were only upset with me because you trusted me and I messed up big time" Carl said to Anne.
"I'm glad we've moved past that," Anne said and Carl pulled her into a hug.
He felt so happy and at peace inside of him. It's been a while since he has felt this way. Even though Anne hasn't fallen in love with him yet, perhaps they can be friends first.
Victoria smiled as she watched the scene. She could see nothing but a perfectly lovely relationship between those two.
"I wanna go back to New York City with you," Anne said as they both pulled from the hug.
"What?" Carl exclaimed with a broad grin on his face.
He was excited yet hoping she wasn't kidding.
"you finally changed your mind? You're moving back to New York?" Victoria asked Anne, feeling surprised
Anne nodded.
"yes Victoria, I don't want to keep on hiding" she exhaled.
"And most importantly, I miss my brother"
"I'm going to miss you Anastasia" Victoria quickly gave Anne a tight hug same as Clara.
"why is everyone leaving?" Clara said, feeling upset.
She was already sad that Carl was going to leave and now Anne wants to leave too.
"Clara, why don't you ask your mom to finally leave Alabama and visit us," Anne said to Clara.
Victoria laughed. "We'll visit you soon in New York, I promise"
"Are you sure?" Anne seriously asked Victoria.
"I promise!!" Victoria said.
"Clara, you heard that?" Anne said to Clara and Clara smiled softly. She was now a little happy.
"bye Anne, bye Carl," Victoria said, waving to both Carl and Anne and they did the same.
…
Anne and Carl got to where Carl's car was parked and being the gentleman Carl was, he opened the car door for Anne in the front seat and she got in.
While Carl was driving he kept on stealing glances at Anne. He was unsure of what to say to her or how to initiate a conversation.
Surprisingly, they had a good talk last night without any arguments which is actually the first time since they met.
"Why do you keep staring at me?" Anne said to Carl, looking at his side profile. She has caught him many times, checking her out with her corner eye.
"Nothing, ...I'm just admiring God's best creation. Hope is not a crime?" Carl said with his eyes on the road.
"It's not a crime," Anne answered in a low tone. Her face was still, but she was blushing inside.
God's best creation? Wow!
Ding! Ding! Ding! Anne's phone beeped several times as they drove past where there was a network.
Anne curiously checked her phone and she saw tons of messages popping in her phone because she hasn't had service for three months plus.
"Oh, there's service here," Anne muttered, as she was pressing her phone.
"wow!!" she exclaimed.
"What!?" Carl asked.
"I have over 14 voicemails from you," she said feeling surprised while looking at her phone.
Carl's eyes broadened.
Those voicemails of how he sounded so pathetic?
Anne was just about to tap on the voicemail but Carl swiftly grabbed the phone from her hand as he was driving.
"Hey! give me back my phone!" she demanded in a high-pitched tone but Carl ignored her and quickly deleted all his voicemails from her phone.
After that, he gave her back her phone with a satisfying smile on his face meanwhile, Anne was sneering at him.
She checked her phone and she saw that Carl has erased all his voicemails from her phone.
"Why did you delete your voice messages?" Anne asked with a straight face.
"Nothing! I don't think you wanna listen to them anymore" he said with his eyes on the road.
Anne saw other random messages of customers placing orders and she skipped all of them.
She couldn't help but check if Carlos had sent her a text not because she missed him but to see if he at least cared to do so.
However, there wasn't a single text from him and that was when she fully believed that Carlos is in a coma, which means he got into an accident just as Carl said.
But what if he had died?
Anne creased her brows at the thought of that. Even though she hates Carlos for playing with her feelings and cheating on her, she didn't wish him bad.
"Carl when we get to New York, I want you to take me to the hospital where Carlos is admitted," Anne said.
"you finally believe me?" Carl said
"yes I do" she responded softly.
