Chapter 18 - I'm never going to leave you

"Mr. McAlester!" Anne gasped, she recalled Carl saving her from those hoodlums and he also works with the police.

Besides, Carl has assured her that if she needed help, she should reach out to him and he would be of service.

Anne quickly reached for her phone to call Carl, hoping he was going to pick up.

Meanwhile, Carl was in his room feeling worried about Richie's new behavior. His phone distracted him as it rang. He picked up his phone and saw that it was 'witch' calling him.

"Anastasia" he smiled looking at his phone screen. He remembered storing Anne's number as witch.

"Hello Anne what's up," Carl said after answering the call.

"Please, …please you have to help me," Anne said, trying to catch her breath while talking on the phone.

"Anne, what happened!? Are you okay??" Carl panicked. He was able to detect her fear from how she sounded on the phone.

"I'm being chased by those men who tried to r*p* me and..." she tried to explain but the men had already gotten to where she was.

One of them quickly yanked the phone from her hand and ended the call. "you think you're so smart" He threw her a slap and she fell to the ground.

He switched off her phone and kept it in his pants pockets.

"Hello, Anne!! Where are you? Please talk to me. Anne!!" Carl yelled on the phone panicking like he had already lost her.

He tried calling her number again but it was switched off and fear gripped him.

"Anne has been kidnapped," he said to himself in a worried tone.

He called one of the police officers who work for him. "There has been a kidnap and… I… I can't track her phone 'cause it's switched off" Carl said on the phone in a shaky voice.

"Prosecutor Carl, please calm down," the police said on the phone because Carl was too scared and nervous to speak up.

"Don't tell me to calm down! I need every police to have a search party for Anastasia Robyn Stewart right now!!!". Carl yelled and hang up.

He took his pistol and tucked it at the back of his pants. He rushed to his car and drove off to look for Anne, even though he had no clue where she was.

.....

"tie her up!" one of the hoodlums who seemed to be their leader commanded and the two other guys tied Anne's hands together, backward.

"what do you want from me?" Anne pleaded. She felt hopeless and was scared to death

"shut up!!" their leader yelled at her.

The hoodlums forced Anne inside an old yellow taxi pointing a gun to scare her. She was sitting in between two of the hoodlums in the back seat while the other one was driving at a high speed.

Anne's heart was beating rapidly like she was not going to come out alive. They drove through the highway and luckily, she saw Carl's car and some other police car driving opposite them.

As soon as Carl's car was close enough to the taxi she was in, she took her chance and cried for help.

"Carl, …Carl help!!"

"shut up or I'll fucking kill you" one of them whispered, covering her mouth tight and pointing a gun to her head.

Tears rolled down Anne's cheeks. She had no idea where they were taking her to. What if they're planning to kill her?

They finally stopped and they forcefully brought her out of the taxi.

She tried to release her hands from the ropes they used in tying her hands but it was no use because of how tight it was. She searched around with her eyes and she couldn't find Carl or the policemen.

'he probably didn't hear me,' she thought to herself.

The hoodlums forced her into the woods and she had the idea to intentionally drop her silver bracelet as a clue to getting found. Since her bracelet was bigger than her wrist, it was easier for it to come off as she wiggled her hand. Fortunately, her bracelet wasn't tied with the ropes.

"where are you taking me?" she said anxiously.

"Just shut your damn mouth or I'll blow your head off" their leader yelled pointing a gun at her temple.

..

Carl stopped his car all of a sudden and the policemen stopped their cars too.

"She didn't come here" Carl yelled hitting the steering wheel of his car out of frustration.

"what if something terrible has happened to her? What if she's not okay?" Carl thought. He became scared at the thought of losing her.

"Prosecutor Carl, let's keep looking," one of the policemen said as Carl came down from his car with the cops.

"I'm turning back," Carl said. "You all go forward" he pointed to three cops. "the rest of you come with me," he said to the remaining four police.

Carl reversed his car with the other four cops in the same direction where the hoodlums and Anne followed.

While he was driving, he saw the hoodlums' dirty old taxi that was parked on the side of the road. He stopped his car and the policemen stopped theirs too.

It was a few minutes to eight o'clock at night and the night was getting darker by the hour.

Carl paced around the place where the taxi was.

"Anne is around here somewhere and I can I feel it deeply," he said to himself, massaging his temple to concentrate.

He recalled passing the taxi while he was at full speed but so what? It doesn't prove anything.

"How do I find her? I have no clue where she is!" Carl muttered.

"into the woods, search if you could see anything," Carl ordered the policemen.

One of the cops saw a shiny bracelet on the ground, it was very visible as it glows in the dark.

He picked it up and handed it to Carl." Prosecutor Carl look at what I found," the cop said to Carl.

As soon as Carl saw it, his heart throbbed.

"it belongs to Anne. Anne would never take this off... She wanted to communicate to us with this" Carl said looking at the bracelet.

"Now let's just hope she's still alive," the cop said flatly.

"she's alive and I'm sure of it" Carl yelled at the cop.

The cop was surprised at how Carl yelled at him for saying that. "maybe whoever was missing was his woman" the cop thought.

None of the police officers had seen Carl this troubled before.

"Anastasia!!!" Carl cried out in the woods.

..

In the woods, the hoodlums loosed the ropes that were used to tie Anne's hands with a pocket knife.

"The last time we met, your prosecutor boyfriend saved your life," the leader said to Anne caressing her face, with lust in his eyes.

Anne turned her face sideways, his touch made her skin crawl, and if only she could bite his hand off her face.

"Hahahaha he isn't here to save you now" he laughed.

"what are we going to do with her now?" one of the men said.

"Both of you pin her down to the ground" their leader commanded, and the other two did as they were told, holding her arms side to side.

"madam said we should do whatever we please with her and I can't just let this beautiful thing here get off my sight without me getting to taste her," the leader said, aggressively unzipping his pants.

"Please don't hurt me" she cried and begged with her life. "I promise I'll give you what you want just tell these two men to let go of me please," she said to the leader, nodding her head.

He immediately signaled the men to let go of her arm and Anne crept closer to him "if you do anything stupid I'll kill you" he warned her.

As soon as Anne touched his zipper, he groaned softly. He felt sexually aroused and he couldn't wait to pounce on Anne but to his surprise, Anne ruthlessly pulled his rod like she wanted to rip it out from his skin.

"aaaahhhhh" the leader screamed, holding his rod and writhing in pain. "Get that bitch" he screamed in pain rolling on the floor.

However, Anne seized her moment to run as fast as she could away from the hoodlums. She didn't know where she was heading, she just wanted to escape.

One of them tried to shoot her but he was too far from her, so he had to keep chasing her.

Anne was running and looking back at the same time to see if they were close but she could barely see anyone. It was too dark in the woods.

She ran so fast without any direction and bumped into Carl by accident, who was also running towards her.

Carl was with some of the cops and he could barely tell she was the one running toward him.

Anne's body was covered in fear and her body was vibrating as if she was freezing.

When she realized she had bumped into Carl, she hugged him firmly and burst into premium tears in his embrace.

"Anne," Carl muttered, lifting her chin after realizing she was the one that bumped into him.

He felt overjoyed he had seen Anne but seeing her cry like a baby made Carl frown. He felt like brutally punishing whoever must've hurt her.

He quickly broke free from the hug to hunt down the criminals who had kidnapped her but Anne swiftly pulled his wrist and hugged him tightly to her chest.

"Carl, I'm scared... please don't leave me… they're after me," Anne said at every chance she gets to breathe.

She knew she was safer in his arms and she didn't want to let go of him. She hugged him tight like her life depended on the hug.

Carl signaled the cops with a hand gesture for them to look for the kidnappers and the cops left them immediately.

He hugged her even more tightly and gently squeezed her to his rock-hard chest.

"I'm never going to leave you, I promise to protect you with my life," Carl said under his breath. "I thought I've lost you," he said trying to hold back his tears.

He couldn't imagine losing her, he was so scared.
