Chapter 8 - Old Bookstore

"Boss," someone called politely. He was Smith, the personal assistant to the man he called 'boss'.

The view of the beautiful beautiful city of D did not make the figure who stood firmly facing the large glass in one of the luxury hotel suite rooms on the 30th floor interested in enjoying it. His gaze was far ahead looking at the sky which today looked very bright.

His mind wandered far away, even he refused to pay attention to the person who called him.

"If what you say is useless, be prepared to accept the consequences," he said as calmly as water without facing his interlocutor.

Hearing that, Smith's forehead immediately sweated, even though he had worked for the person in front of him for 10 years, he didn't get used to the calm demeanor of a man who looked more like an angel and a devil.

"I got word from Al-Ghifary's family, they want this meeting to be postponed," he said calmly. In his heart, he hoped that what he said did not ignite the boss's emotions.

With a calm and light motion, the man turned to face his assistant, his gaze flat but very intimidating.

"Master Al-Ghifary said that if Miss Annaya currently has very important business, she will most likely not be able to come on time." Smith straight away. He understood the meaning of his boss's gaze.

The man slightly furrowed his brows then he glanced at the expensive watch that was beautifully coiled on his sturdy wrist, after thinking for a moment, he said, "the meeting will not be postponed, prepare a car." The order.

The news that his assistant conveyed did not affect his intention to move forward today.

Smith understood very well what his boss wanted, he immediately said goodbye and turned away to carry out orders.

The boss is an indisputable figure.

After the death of his assistant, the man returned to face the large glass that displayed the hustle and bustle of the city of D.

After ten minutes of standing with faraway thoughts, he decided to leave. Whatever happens, today he will keep his promise.

After hearing the news from her mother-in-law, Anna's heart and mind were very chaotic, she couldn't calm down to face this even though she had tried to prepare herself, and she didn't expect this day to come so soon.

With sure steps he went to a place that could make her calm, only he and Fateh knew that place. The place the two of them always go every year to celebrate their 'first meeting'

The place where the sweet story began 15 years ago.

After arriving, Anna ventured inside, for the first time she had come to this place without a loved one. Once inside, the first thing he felt was the beautiful moments she had with Fateh.

Her mind was crying again.

Anna began to walk along each shelf and then took the books that were neatly arranged and then walked back until she arrived at the seat she used to share with her late husband when they came here.

It was right in the corner of the shop and there just happened to be one table and two chairs. Since then, it has become her and Fateh's favorite place when she comes to this old bookstore.

Fateh, who likes to talk a lot to Anna, will not be afraid to disturb other visitors because this chair has a slightly farther distance from the other chairs.

Anna realized that at this time her family must be so confused about looking for her but, the woman didn't care because her presence wouldn't change anything. She just wanted to pass the time one last time before her life was stolen.

Her tiny hands slowly opened every book in front of her but, her gaze was blank as if the soul was not in her body.

Unable to bear the pain in her chest, Anna folded her arms and buried her head there, if she didn't see her shoulders shaking violently, no one would know that she was crying.

Anna promised herself that today would be the last day she would cry.

Only God knows that he is so HURT.

A luxurious black car stopped in front of a building on the outskirts of town D. It was a bookstore that seemed to be older than the surrounding buildings.

Smith immediately parked the car and got out and immediately opened the door for his boss with a slightly bent body. He didn't understand what his boss wanted to do here, and he had no right to ask.

As soon as he got out of the car the man stood with his hands in his pants pockets. He raised his head slightly 'Story Life' is the name of the bookstore.

Before taking a step, he said to his assistant without turning his head, "wait here."

Without waiting for his assistant's answer, the man went straight into the shop.

"Okay boss," replied Smith with his head down. Smith knew that his master didn't hear what he was saying.

After the funeral, Smith remembered that his master had met someone at one of the fancy restaurants around here. Could that be the reason

'Does the boss need a book? But for what? The boss has a personal library, the number of books is countless' he thought.

I don't know, Smith has a hard time guessing his boss's thoughts, better to wait by playing games. he thought.

Different appearance with a dark gray suit made the man the center of attention, all the shoppers stared at him without blinking.

The visitors prefer to enjoy God's creation that walks quietly as light as cotton in front of them rather than focusing on their previous destination, the suit which is ensured to have high quality is even more perfect because it wraps the beautifully sculpted body.

But the figure didn't care about what was around him, those eagle-like eyes only focused on what he was looking for.

A woman who still looks young immediately approached a handsome man who came from nowhere, as the granddaughter of the shop owner, of course, she would not waste the opportunity.

"Can I help you, sir?" She asked politely but with a blushing face and flushed cheeks, anyone would be like her when faced with this extraordinarily perfect man.

But unfortunately, the man did not respond at all, he languidly returned to serving other visitors.

Those beautiful eyes blinked for a moment after seeing the figure he was looking for was in the corner of the room sitting alone with his head down on his hands, he slowly approached the figure that had made the whole family confused looking for him.

Walking calmly until he arrived in front of the woman did not make the woman aware of his presence, he could also see this woman's shoulders shaking slightly indicating that this woman was crying.

Anna felt a sudden cold attack her, she also felt someone knocking on her desk, with a small movement of her hand she wiped the tears that were streaming down her face, she also tried to stop the sobs even though it was very difficult.

Anna took a deep breath then lifted her head and met the gaze of a man who was staring at her intently and intensely.

Anna's body trembled slightly because in her life she had never been stared at with cold eyes like this.

'Does the sound of my crying bother him, but must he stare at me like this?' thought Anna.

Anna looked around her, all the visitors' eyes were on her. Anna, who realized that this might be her fault, only gave a small bow as a sign of apology. She shouldn't be crying in public like this. Regret in my heart.

Visitors who saw it could only sigh in disappointment because the man went to the bookstore not to buy a book, but to meet a woman who turned out to be very beautiful, they were sure that the woman was the lover of this handsome man.

The two of them matched like a pair of angels who came down to earth. No wonder the man does not care about his surroundings, it turns out that the woman has a perfect face.

Do not want to disturb the privacy of others, the visitors return to their respective activities.

'Beautiful'

That's what the man first thought when he saw the beautiful face of the woman in front of him, even though her face looked puffy from crying but did not fade her beauty.

This wasn't the first time the man had seen the woman but it was the first time he had met her at such close range.

Anna saw a strange figure in front of her still staring at her intensely. She who didn't want to get into trouble with others immediately apologized politely.

After that, she closed the book and was about to leave but, the man's low voice stopped her in her tracks.

"Hide."

I don't know if it was a question or a statement that the man said but what Anna knew was this man was saying that word for her, Anna frowned in confusion.

"Who are you?" Anna asked.

Anna felt like she didn't know this man before, could it be a friend of one of her sisters?

She didn't get an answer yet, the words that came out of this man's lips managed to make her eyes perfectly rounded and her breathing seemed to stop.

"Your future husband."
