Blood to Blood
Those eagle's eyes pierce through her soul when she forgot to breathe, looking at him in confusion but when the realisation dawned upon her, she was forced to bounce back in reality.
Not today, never tomorrow, she wanted to meet him again. There was always a feeling of getting ripped into pieces when his red eyes gazed at her. She gulped the thick saliva down to her throat and proceeded to start the conversation.
"I…. I….." but no words came out.
"Nervous?" Asked Alaric with an amusing expression decorated on his face.
"Uh…." Adrianna was aware that the tongue tie was horrible and when no words came out, she sighed and lowered her head a bit.
"Are you really this innocent or do you act so well that I can't see your concealed emotions? What are you trying to hide?" Alaric fumed and glanced at her keenly.
Adrianna glared at him because of anger and embarrassment, her face flushed crimson.
"Will you let me inside?" He sighed and raised his brows at her.
Adrianna was confused but let him inside because she didn't want anyone else to see him standing outside her apartment. People spread rumours faster than fire.
This was the first time Alaric entered her house and it was small, smaller than his bathroom but he didn't mind.
Suddenly, he caught two different sets of scents and understood the presence of two more humans in the house.
He turned around, only to glance at the face in front of him which was delicate, vivid, clean, and glowing without any trace of makeup. Her lips were rosy pink without any tint and they looked like an invitation to him.
His lips curled up into a smile as his eyes were locked with hers.
"Adrianna, did you miss me?"
"I was occupied the entire time thinking about you…" Adrianna's response was rude and flat but Alaric kept a wicked smile on his face.
"Please, have a seat. I know my house is not even one sixteenth of your place but you are my guest and I will always respect my guests regardless of their status." Adrianna said and went to the kitchen and brought a glass of juice for Alaric.
"I didn't mind your house at all, I came here for business…" he responded casually.
"Sorry?" Adrianna frowned.
"Umm.. business… Did you forget about our deal?" Asked Alaric with a furious expression on his face.
"No .. I remember but…" Adrianna got scared of him when he got up and approached her in a blink of an eye.
Alaric pinned her against the wall and inhaled her delicious scent from her hair. His nose rubbed lightly on the pale skin of the neck as he buried his nose in it.
Adrianna's heartbeat was racing as she felt her entire world turning upside down.
"Why did you smell so good?" Alaric and Adrianna remained speechless.
"I just took a bath…"
"Will you let me in next time?" Suddenly, Alaric's eyes turned black with lust as he placed his lips onto her.
It was a peck but it sent electric waves in Adrianna's body.
"So, where were we? Yeah… the deal…" Alaric exclaimed and took out a few blank papers.
"What are these?" She asked when she noticed the blank pages.
"Agreement…" he looked into her eyes and Adrianna almost screamed when she saw his eyes all black.
Alaric covered her mouth and held her hands tightly, "if you scream, i will kill you… just shut up…"
Adrianna cried and nodded her head in agreement. She cried silently as the man in front of her grew his fangs so sharp which cut her wrist and using that blood, he signed the blank papers.
"Now, it's your turn…" he offered the papers to her.
Adrianna was hesitant to pick the papers but Alaric's intense gaze was burning her. Reluctantly, she grabbed the paper with trembling hands and looked at Alaric, hoping to explain that she no longer needs that job.
"Why is it taking so much time? Just cut your wrist a little and sign it with that blood. You can give a thumb impression if you want, but please do it fast. I have other plans." Alaric yelled at her
Adrianna didn't move and was lost in thought about cutting her wrist. When suddenly, Alaric grabbed her arm and but lightly on the wrist, a few blood drops appeared and he made her put an impression on the paper.
"So, it's done… but we haven't…" he smiled wickedly at him.
He grabbed her from the waist and pulled her closure, embracing her curves inside those baggy clothes. His hands roamed over her body which made Adrianna moan lightly. Suddenly, he let go of her and Adrianna fell back.
"Don't disappoint me, darling. I hate liars and cheaters." He said while glaring into her eyes.
"But I didn't lie…" Adrianna stammered between her words.
"I know that, if you had lied, I could have felt that from your heartbeat…" he smiled at her.
"What? Can you hear my heartbeat?" Adrianna was stunned.
"Yes, and I can hear the heartbeats of those other humans in the house.
Adrianna gasped loudly and didn't like what the man just said, "don't worry, i will not hurt them, till you won't hurt my sentiments."
In the faded light, His facial features appeared dominant with sharp edges and corners, deep eyes with pain hiding somewhere.
Adrianna wanted to admire him but her heart hated this man as much she hated the man she slept with five years back.
She remembered how he killed a woman with his teeth barely and she was in a situation where she couldn't scream or complain to anyone.
He made her feel hot in an instance and another second he was cold as ice to her.
"From tomorrow, I want you to be my assistant… for the night.." said Alaric before leaving. "I will send your dress for the job and hopefully you will wear it." He instructed her before disappearing from the corridors.
Adrianna exhaled loudly and fell back, leaning against the wall. What was happening with her? Soon she will go crazy if things keep going like this.
