Hey there? Yeah, it's still met Gael. Miss me? I know you do because you want to know how this story goes. So, where were we? Oh, yeah. The picnic. (Ahem)
We sat there on the blankets as we ate. What surprised me was that he ate as much as me. I thought I was the only person who ate this much. But what I noticed was that while I liked meaty foods, Adrian liked vegetables and fruits and ate very little meat.
"You don't like meat?" I asked out of curiosity.
"I do. It's just that I noticed that you love meat and I let you eat the majority of it," he answered and I felt ashamed.
"Sorry. But I love meat. I don't think I can survive without meat in my diet," I said. And that's true by the way. If people ever got married to food, I would get married to meat. Yes.
He chuckled then said, "I was teasing you. I am not a fan of meat. I love vegetables, fruits and anything planty."
"So, what's the purpose of this picnic?" I asked as I got into the mood to get to know this man. He seems interesting and it felt good to eat with someone who didn't look at me as strange because of the amount I could eat. You could say that we had that in common.
"I wanted to get to know you as you got to know me better with hopes that we could be close." He said.
"I'm all ears."
My name is Adrian The Alpha Greyson. I...," he said but I interrupted before he could continue.
"Wait! What! The Alpha? Are you kidding me?" I asked in disbelief because such coincidences never happen. Nah! I'm sure he was teasing me because he knew I am called 'The Alpha' and it is a pretty weird name if you ask me.
"Why? That's my given name," he said and he seemed serious then he gave me his national. identity card and yes. There it was "Adrian The Alpha Greyson". I wanted to ask the meaning of his name because he was, so far, the only other person I knew with a weird name like mine but I wanted to get to know him first. It was quite unbelievable. Although it was relieving to know that my parents weren't the only ones with a weird sense of naming their children.
"Continue," I said as I laid down on the blankets and looked up at the pink sky that was turning dark and the moon was just coming out.
"I am twenty-four years old. I'm 7'2". I am an only child in our family and I don't have any friends. I have been a loner since I was young and you are the first person who piqued my interest. That's why I nagged you so much because I wanted to be your friend so badly. I tried making friends while in high school but it didn't really go well because I am not a people person," he finished and looked at me.
"Don't you even have a girlfriend or don't you intend to start a family?" I asked now intrigued by him. We had so much in common. Like me, he was also a loner. If he doesn't have a girlfriend, that will be another thing we would be having in common.
"I have never loved anyone or had anyone rile my l emotions and apparently, when I turned twenty-two, I found out that I can't get a wife the normal way because I had to look for my fated one. The one who will complete the other half of me," he said and yes, now, I was all ears. He seemed to have read a lot of werewolf and vampire stories. I almost laughed but he seemed serious so I didn't.
"What do you mean? Meaning that you are half now?" I asked.
He laughed then looked at me seriously as he said, "It means that I will only be complete when I find my fated one. It's like when you have powers and you can only utilize half of them and there is only one other person who has the keys to the other half and you don't even know where they are in this continent and they don't even know whether they are the key. So, you have to wait as you look for them. When you do find your fated one, you have to convince them to like you back because that's the only way it works," he finished.
"It sucks, doesn't it?" I said and I pitied him.
"It does. But when you find your fated one, it becomes worth it," he finished with a dreamy look in his eyes.
"Your life sounds like a movie. You sure you are human?" I joked as I pinched his cheek and he moved away to avoid my hand in laughter. He looked so handsome when he let go and laughed like that. (Hand... what? Sorry, where were we? Oh, yeah... mate)
"So, you have found your fated one yet?" I asked because what is the need of guessing when I can't just ask the horse? Right?
"Yes, I have," he was still having that dreamy look and his face brightened when he talked of his fated one.
"Won't she mind that you are here with someone else?" I asked because how could he be comfortable being here with me while his special one is somewhere else?
"No, he won't," he said and I caught the word 'he'. Does it mean? Oh, never mind. It's none of my business.
But in all truth, I wouldn't want to be him. I don't know what I would do if I had to start looking for a fated one that one. didn't even know whether they are there or not.
Wait... What if Aiden is playing with my mind? Doesn't that theory of the fated one and all sound so far fetched? I know that we are told in our stories that all these mythical creatures were real. but isn't he human? If he is playing me I swear I will get revenge.
For now, let me enjoy this serene atmosphere.
