This is the most peaceful I have ever been, as I laid on this blanket next to Adrian. It was already at night and I didn't want to go back home. I can't even remember the last time I went camping and breathing in fresh air felt refreshing.
I also won't lie anymore: being here with Adrian made me easy, happy, contented, peaceful and all that. I felt that my heart was finally at home. I do not know why and I hope you won't ask me.
"Do you want us to go back?" He asked out of nowhere as if he could read my mind.
"No. Can we spend the night here? It's so peaceful," I said as I looked at him and he smiled at me. It was like that was the answer he was waiting for.
"Yes we can. I also don't want to go back. It's long since I felt this peaceful," he said and we silently watched the dark sky with the golden stars shining down on us. I was happy that I wasn't the only one feeling that way.
We talked about anything and everything you can think of and we laughed. I never knew having a friend could be so enjoyable. But I guess it's because Adrian and I had so much in common.
I don't even know when we fell asleep but I had a dream. In my dream, I was with both my parents and we were at a clearing.
I felt my body turn hot as my bones started producing crackling sounds as a golden light encompassed me. It was so painful and I screamed but I heard my mom's voice encouraging me, "don't give up baby. It will be over soon. Allow he pain to be a part of you." And I did.
I allowed myself and the pain to merge and it wasn't as painful anymore. The pain became mild when I accepted it and it started flowing in me like a cool stream.
And then the pain was gone and the golden light disappeared. There I was in all the majesty you can think of. I felt powerful. I saw my parents gawp at me and I looked at myself. Where my legs were supposed to be, I was having cat legs, to be exact, those of a lion. Where my hands were supposed to be, I had eagle's talons. The lower half of my body was that of a lion and the upper part was that of an eagle.
I screeched like an eagle and spread my wings and took up into the sky. It was the most majestic sight I have ever experienced. I was then woken up by someone shaking me and calling my name. When I opened my eyes, I was met by silver ones. It was Aiden looking down at me with a worried face.
"Ansel, are you okay?" He asked worriedly and I rubbed my eyes as I sat up. "Did you have a nightmare?" He asked again.
"No. It wasn't a nightmare per se. It was kinda a nice dream," I answered and smiled. I wish he hadn't woken me up and I would have soared. (But seriously, we need to have a discussion about dreams. Why do nice dreams and when one is about to experience a good thing? But if it was a nightmare... Ha! I know you all know it.)
"Tell me about it," he said curiously and I made him swear that he won't laugh at me and he
did.
Then I told him about my dreamn and he looked at me with awe. "Wow! A griffin!" He said.
"A what?" I asked not understanding him. "A griffin. Don't you ever read mythologies? It's the most powerful creature after the dragon. It can also control nature, animals of the field and birds. It's because the eagle is considered the king of the air while the lion is considered the king of the jungle," he finished and he was still looking at me with and I awe.
"Why are you looking at me like that? It was just a dream," I said as I laughed at him.
He looked away as he apologized. He looked so cute at that moment that I wished I could kiss him.
(Whaaaaat! No. did I just say that? That dream must have messed up my mind. Ahem)
But I have had that dream for several. times now but I never knew that the animal is called a griffin. But I always wake up when I am almost flying. But today was the first day my mom was in the dream. Maybe I juts miss her.
