Chapter 86 - The Usurper versus the Elder!

Naomi Banks was stunned silly. She never expected this outcome to the proceedings of things. The underdog whom no one expected ended up being the victor in this bout.

For the following few seconds, Naomi Banks was tongue-tied.

The crowd too was in a mode where it appeared as if their senses were dulled.

After a short while, Naomi Banks regained her usual charm and continued to lead the proceedings.

"For our next battle, it would be between our grand Elder, Alpha Tozic and Alpha Bergo.

There were shouts here and there and this time, people started to get unsure of who to bet on to win.

The last match had put a lot of confusion in their minds. It was like any underdog is capable of turning the tide and this confused them a lot. Their high expectations started to wane, for the favorites especially.

Elder Tozic came out to a rapturous crowd that seemed more fake than actually excited. He was a bit nervous though. He could lose not only his pack but even his life if he didn't play it out well.

On the surface, he looked calm and composed but deep within him, he was going through a lot of emotions, especially scary ones.

Alpha Bergo also came out. He looked a bit confident. He gave off the feeling of a contender on equal footing as he hopped on the spot like a professional boxer.

Elder Tozic came closer, he wasn't giving off any particular vibe. If anything, he was stoic. He just stood there with his arms folded behind his back while he stared straight at Alpha Bergo.

"Fight..." Naomi Banks commanded and left the stage and the referee came out of nowhere and dropped a black flag in the space between the contender before backing away slowly.

Alpha Bergo was the first to rush out on this round. A small pin-like object could be seen projecting out of his hand.

Elder Tozic had been looking carefully for that and he was happy he was able to catch it on time.

He discovered it seems all the Alphas without the Bianca's curse had found a way to kill the elders, and this more than leveled the playing field, it even put them at a disadvantage.

Elder Tozic paid attention to every single movement of Alpha Bergo. His hand movements, his speed, the needle projection in his hands, the claws with which he was using to his hide.

As Alpha Bergo got closer, he suddenly spun in the air and slammed the needle toward the left ear of Elder Tozic.

Elder Tozic who had been calculating and overly prepared spun to the side with ease and grabbed the arm of Alpha Bergo with the needle projection.

With one fierce tug, he tore out that arm like one would a roasted chicken lap. He didn't stop there, before Alpha Bergo could scream, another set of claws had pierced his skull and cracked it open. He was dead by the time he hit the floor.

Elder Tozic was ruthless and unrelenting.

He slowly dropped the arm he tore off Alpha Bergo and remained stoic like he wasn't the one who just tore someone to shreds.

This scary sight sent fear deep into the hearts of the challenging werewolves not to be overconfident in facing the Elders.

Killing Elder Bush may have brought them some level of confidence but Elder Tozic just reminded them of the difference in strength. He just showed them why he was the grand Elder.

The referee raised the white flag toward Elder Tozic signifying his win.

For a few seconds, no sound came out of anywhere, but later, a loud riotous shout started to gush out from every part of the arena.

Elder Tozic did as if he didn't hear anyone chant his name, he walked off stage with his Ego inflated and a full-blown bravado on display.

His strides were at the pace of a saunter as he left the fighting stage.

This time no one would conclude quite easily because both the underdog and the elders have proven to be both threatening.

A series of fights followed that of Elder Tozic in which the underdogs came out on top in most of the fights, claiming the packs of that of the Elders.

Elder Tozic couldn't influence much unless he wanted to go against his own rule of power. He created the rule and upheld it with a quote, "Only the strong are fit to rule..."

After a number of fights had passed, Naomi Banks grabbed the mic again, this time, with a little bit of lethargy.

"For the next fight, I call on Alpha Londan Grey and his opponent would be Elder Lomi..."

The crowd was immediately silenced.

Elder Lomi was the second in command to Elder Tozic, he was like the assistant grand Elder.

London Grey just recently got promoted to an Alpha rank and it didn't come naturally, it came through political and underhanded means so he isn't exactly a full-fledged Alpha, more like a false Alpha who no one really acknowledges, not even his own people or more like those people he snatched from the hands of the previous Alpha he betrayed.

The downside of his underhanded tactics was that no one could trust him. Although Beta Crow supported him, he was still very wary of the length Londan Grey could go to get what he wanted.

Although Crow acted like his friend, he always made sure that he kept his distance.

After the announcement was made, both Londan Grey and Elder Lomi walked out calmly.

If the proceedings of the event were a determiner, it means that one of these two was going to die since no one has surrendered far.

They all chose to rather die than willingly surrender their pack to the opponent. They felt that no one was going to respect them if they did that and death seemed like a better option.

Both contenders looked at each other briefly before waiting for the next statement by Naomi Banks.

While everyone was behind Lomi, not even the member of his so-called pack was in support of Londan. He was the black sheep that no one liked but everyone was wary of.

The atmosphere became so tense you could almost feel it or palpable enough to give the feeling it could be touched.
