Chapter 85 - Chapter 85: Competition of Alphas!

Two days had passed since the day of introductions and it was finally the time for Alpha's to compete. A number of omega and beta wolves had died during the previous sessions with a major winner and a list of runner-ups named from previous games.

It was an entertaining sight to the werewolf audience but most importantly, it had helped to rank them based on their true strength.

Now it was time for Alphas to compete and the air around the area became almost palpable, with a tense density.

Everyone would involuntarily shudder when they consider what was at stake. Certain weak Alphas may be killed during this competition and some packs would have to be taken over by the winning Alpha, and such a merge wouldn't be favorable at all for the new members who might even be made slaves under the new rule.

The thought of such an occurrence scares the members of each pack, especially those that judge their Alphas as weak.

Crow was among the few betas that were fortunate enough to come on top during their competition. He was excellent in every aspect of his game.

Londan Grey was gearing up for the competition of the day. There were loud sounds everywhere.

The atmosphere was so tense, you could almost feel the suffocating pressure anywhere you go.

The Alphas were gathered in different rooms.

They were so many that they had to be distributed into different rooms from which they would walk onto the stage when called up to participate in the fight.

Naomi Banks was holding the microphone as usual and she had her usual fake smile on.

"Today is a special day..." She begins to speak as she struts across the stage.

"Today we host the competition of Alphas..." She emphasized the last word with a wind blow through her teeth.

"This year's competition is special because this time, the elders would be participating." Naomi Banks paused again and the crowd screamed and whistled along.

"For the opening fight of the competition of Alphas, we have one of our Elders, Alpha Bush versus a newly ranked Alpha, Alpha Eaglis." Naomi Banks spoke with a high pitch and cheers filled the air.

Everyone was looking forward to the fight between an Elder werewolf and an ordinary Alpha. It was also a fight between a cursed werewolf and a normal werewolf.

Alpha Bush came out with an arrogant look on his face. His demeanor was like that of a predator about to tear his prey into pieces.

He appeared calm on the surface but deep down, he was like a trigger bomb whose pin had been removed and is being kept underneath.

Alpha Eaglis also stepped out of another room which was opposite that of Alpha Bush. Alpha Eaglis looked like he had it together. He appeared unfazed as he stepped forward and moved to stand opposite Alpha Bush.

Alpha Bush was slightly surprised by his composure, he expected a fearful behavior from him but contrary to that, Alpha Eaglis remained calm and unfazed.

At this moment, Naomi Banks stepped in. "So the rules of engagement are simple, the goal is to get your opponent to surrender, if he willingly forfeits before the game, or forfeits during the game, you win."

"and If your opponent decides not to forfeit, then the fight continues until one can get up again. External weapons are allowed as far as both parties agree to it,"

"This competition would be participated in by every werewolf under the bracket 'Alpha' unless they wish to forfeit, and in that case, their pack would be taken over by whomever they are forfeiting to... so good luck, and may the best werewolf win." Naomi Banks screamed into the microphone and everyone present echoed her screams.

The sound of joy filled the atmosphere. No one was out of place. The Alphas on the other hand were nervous. They could lose it all in a few seconds or gain it all in a few minutes.

It was a 50-50 chance.

"Fight...." The referee dressed in a black and white striped shirt and black short knickers shouted as he swung a small green flag forward.

Immediately, Alpha Bush stepped forward once more as he got closer to Alpha Eaglis.

Surprisingly to everyone, Alpha Eaglis maintained his usual composure. The expectation everyone had was that Alpha Eaglis would be disposed of quickly by the Elder Alpha, and they expected him to show fear, but contrary to their expectations, the person in question is looking very calm and calculated.

All of a sudden, Elder Bush jumped and transformed midair, the wind around him blew wildly like a huge bird was taking off from the ground.

He was smashing towards Alpha Eaglis at a breakneck speed but the latter remained composed, it was almost sickening to see him stand and stare like he wasn't even involved in the fight.

The crowd was wondering if he was just stupid or if he had lost his mind. In a fight of this magnitude where he stood the chance of losing his entire pack, isn't he supposed to at least put up a fight than rather stand there like a block of cement?

At this exact moment, something even more shocking happened.

At the last minute as Elder Bush was about to smash Alpha Eaglis to smithereens, the latter suddenly moved.

It was like a vision, the speed of the latter was twice as fast as that of the attacker.

A small needle could be seen projecting in the right hand of Alpha Eaglis. He smashed it in through the neck of Elder Bush who couldn't control his speed and sped uncontrollably by Alpha Eaglis.

The needle was smashed in so fast that it was difficult to clearly see what happened.

By the time Alpha Bush hit the ground, he was dead.

This was not only shocking, but it was also scary. No one saw the needle because it happened so fast, they kept wondering how.

No one was sure if Elder Bush was alive or dead so the referee rushed towards the Elder and checked his pulse.

It was then he discovered that Elder Bush was truly dead. At this time, he raised his white flag declaring Alpha Eaglis the winner.

This shocked everyone. Elder Bush would be losing his entire pack which was 10 times the size of that Alpha Eaglis' pack.

The other Elders were frightened. Up until now, their biggest advantage was the Bianca's curse which made them immortal, however, someone had found a way to even the playing field, meaning anyone could even take the position of the grand Elder. Elder Tozic appeared unfazed on the surface, but deep inside, he was vibrating like a sewer rat.
